Food for Trading Thought

AUD/USD has been in the "doldrums" lately. That fact understood
but presented with this set-up, when might be a good time to sell
(or buy) GBP/AUD ??

One COULD add longer term pivots (which of course is only S/R)
for a better "understanding".

Short, hesitantly;

This trade (much like many of my posts) walks a fine line.
I considered selling GBP/JPY which might have been better

but I'm not dead yet and won't spend years waiting for the outcome.

For me less is more with my trading. I don't have any moving averages, or indicators other then the odd time I pull up macd to look for divergence. I am beginning to see that patterns such as triangles, flags, pennants, boxes and Big Round Numbers, Support and Resistance as well as being aware of the trading environment we are in has taken my clarity when looking at a chart to the next level. Price patterns and BRN are the most valuable tool for myself.

Of course price moves because of order flow, Big Round Numbers create order flow, for me its easier to see the dynamics of price movement with a clean chart. To me every 500 pips is a BRN.

Attempting to "migrate" from short term to longer terms charts was
difficult (and costly) though.

But I didn't want to spend "eternity" staring at a chart.

As far as indies and/or patterns are concerned, it's all what you make of it.

Have you found something that works 100% of the time ?

Yes, I've missed you. Seems I can't argue with much of anyone these days without getting
"banned by a senior member". Seems they no longer have a sense of humor and no desire to
"liven things up". Totally unlike... um.. well, the good 'ole days (LOL).

Moving on.... should things be simple or complex (in response to some thread).
It seems you can use have a dozen different indies and most mean pretty much
the same.

IF you use your half dozen different indies (or none at all) in conjunction with "major"
turning points it might help.

However, the thread title in question suggests that "simple" trading is better. Even if
you read the rather vague rules of said thread, you'll see that "it just ain't that simple".

If you take the following chart, add to it, subtract from it, price will still be the same.
We add things to hopefully assist in the decision making process.

complex but would you suggest to do away with them?

I don't often trade weekly charts so it could be interesting
and even informative for me. 'ay?

It doesn't matter if you like the "music" but nearly every 'song and

" you are right about this. If somebody doesnt like something, some idea or someone, best thing to do is move away from their idea, their thread & from them. There is no reason for one to shout that the other person is useless, because if nobody visit their thread, nobody interact with them then they themselves will understand that they are not contributing. No need to malign someone for their wrong analysis. For record, I like spaceduck wisdom & having conversation with him, but I dont follow his method of trading. Everyone is on their own when it comes to trading. Enjoy someones post & appreciate if you feel it added value to your trading & if not then just leave the space silently.
