This is actually a VERY good example. A breakout above that very strong resistance has now become support and the entry was definitely on the 15 minute chart where you found support by price AND by the moving average, not to mention the coral was green on the 15 and 30 minute time frames which is a bullish indicator and telling us price is in fact in an uptrend, as if one could not already tell LOL. Also i like that set up because the price action is very CLEAN. You dont have huge wicks and spikes and choppiness in the market. Trades like that is how you make your money! If you bring up your 30 minute time frame you will also notice a retest of that same area once price broke down on 11.08 during the asian session with a dotted line (and subsequently a sell arrow) and red moving average headed south. Also note the red moving average (coral) was red on the 1 hour (next higher time frame) which is a mandate for a high quality trade. Both excellent examples.

Hey Doriotcapita..... I don't get in here often but I certainly appreciate you effort to share what's working for you. I can't believe all of the criticisms thrown at you for
simply trying to share. I'm focusing on the indexes now ES, NQ, YM with some success. Any pointers there would be much appreciated. Hope you make a million bucks this year and still do it in your 2 hour trade day. PTL.............Len

Thanks Len! Why only a million? lol. Im use to the critics. They appear when you start getting blessed because they are jealous! Just how it works. Rather then be jealous, the wise man would befriend and glean from that persons favor Let me know if i can help at all...."any pointers" is a very open topic LOL. I would say trade with the trend! Thats my first pointer. Good luck!

No they do not trade thv but their understanding of the market is obviously similar to mine. I threw in the thv for additional confirmation that's all. After reading supply and demand threads and your thread, one thing confuses me. I understand that you are talking about support and resistance levels based on those pivot points. You have said in your chart examples that if a support has been tested several times it becomes a strong support. With supply and demand, an untested (fresh) level is the best. A supply or demand level has been tested several times is a weaker level. The fact of the matter is that very often, a support level is also a demand level and a resistance level is also a supply level. How can there be a disagreement on how to determine the strength of the two types of levels (support/resistance vs supply/demand). What is your opinion?

Hey Swordfish, the strong areas have been recent reaction points on BOTH sides of the market....the area only becomes weaker when you have repeated hits off the same area from the same side over and over. Does this make sense? Please see post 67 and 69 as they do describe what I mean by price being supportive/resistive because price has reacted on both sides of the market in those examples. Also read post 71 as that does a little explaining on how the first hit of an area of one side is usually the best and how the more times the market keeps coming into that area, the weaker it becomes. let me know if u need more clarification.

This is a good start but if you want to do really well you will need to train your eye to really capture these areas on your chart without an indicator. There is nothing like the trained eye and manual trading! Good luck! keep up the hard work.

Hello Doriocapita, I am happy to have looked into this thread! What you are teaching here is the core of trading. You approach to entries and targets is something you have made your own. I am a full time trader and applaude your approach to teaching. The nuggets are all so true. I hope that people in this thread will take the time to dissect everything you show here as I believe it will shorten their time to success. I hope everyone understands that the indicators you use are not the basis for 90% of the reason for taking the trade ,but just a way to home in on the best price in the zone. I am sure you could do just fine with naked charts ,but the indicators just highlight what you already see. You understand when the market should not be traded and when it should be. i think the problem alot of people have is that they do not understand why price reacts to a level and why the orders are there. Many times price rallys to a level because a significant order was put into the market at that level and the market makeres move the price there to fill the order. Once the order is filled at that level the price will go in the direction the order was put in for. That is just one example but the market is meant to fulfill orders. Any pro trader will only put their orders at key levels, anyplace else is stupid, that is how it has always been done. most of the other price action is fooling dumb money.
For those that are sceptics of what Dorio is teaching here then I would ask you to just leave, if not prove him wrong, while trying to do do that you will learn how to trade or you are BS. I rarely post to anything but this thread is awesome so far. I look forward to see more of what you have to show. You are trading basically how I trade but with your own entry style. That is enough for now, TY for your efforts! I will participate more in upcoming posts!

First of all I am not bragging. I was merely responding to a question. Secondly, if I were to tell you I was risking .01% per trade to make 1% a week, that would be very impressive. You cannot merely go by numbers alone because you do not know what Im risking per trade. You can tell me you made 50% last week but thats not impressive until you tell me how much you are risking per trade. If you are risking 25% per trade, thats not impressive at all. If you are risking 1% per trade, I am very impressed. Please think about what you say before you start attacking. I am trying to help people here so they can make 10 or 20 or 30% a week if they want. Its all about risk. And by the way, 1% CONSISTENTLY a week is very good. Higher than the BEST FX hedge fund in the WORLD. I think you would be very happy to make 1% a week on a $5 million dollar account.

Thanks Ferru, i think you just summed up what I said. Besides when you are trading millions, it begins to gets difficult to get in and out of the market (especially when my mt4 only allows 50 standard lot orders at a time) if your lot sizes get too large. Professionals dont trade minilots..... Im glad you have more sense than most on here LOL.
