Anyone has codes as to suspend EA when major news is about to release? We can grab news from FF calender.

Same thing that i am looking for,

One question though, can a news filter pickup key words, such as PPI or FOMC, Bernanke etc... ?

Just a hint about how to solve this: There is an indicator which plots the news headlines of ff on the chart and in those headlines can be searched for keywords. Look at how this indicator retrieves it's data. You can probably copy and paste 95% of the needed code.

I will have a look for it,

I have standalone software that closes the EA, but would like to incorporate similar directly into my EA with the key words

Thanks. Do you know where to find this indicator? Also I just care high impact news event.

Typically the spread widens when a news event occurs, so monitor the spread over time and save the average spread as a variable. Then compare the actual spread to the average and pause the EA while its out of range.

The pause is simply a while loop that remains active while the excess spread is evident.

Why code a while loop (ressources consuming if the spread increase too long time) ? I would just go through the trading part if the spread is below a certain level.

Yep, good idea, for me though I use an EA that sets multiple trades that have to run their course, then have the EA stop a few hours before certain high impact news, waiting for the spread to increase would be to late..,

Yes that's for sure.

The spread idea was just for those who don't want to go through the news events filter coding process.
