trading options if just buying makes it easier, but if you do many spreads then money managing becomes a little harder

Dem bonds are probably going up IMO. Should be good for stocks, bad for $.

taken a earnings trade on BBBY which is due out on DEC 16, Bbby is due a breakout and while its IV is relatively low i've decided to buy as it gets closer to release the IV will increase making the options more expensive. I do have a bias to the downside on this too.

So i bought the DEC 21 $72.50 put for 90c

BBBY is trading around $75.51 currently

VXX has a 1;4 reverse split on Thursday night, its going to be a great instrument to trade again as the % range will exceed strike prices

They bin buying NFLX since the massive bear bar following its own earnings. Thing is you have many options, close some, hedge some gains with buy stops on the underlying, buy an OTM call etc, etc. Having said that, the parallels with NFLX are weak. NFLX was run up massively and also after-hours on by many accounts good earnings. I have no idea about TSLA's results but the technicals were much weaker going into earnings and it got flattened AH so presumably the bull case is much weaker. Also presumably most of the option writers must have got short the underlying given presumably mostly it was puts being bought before earnings (an assumption on my part; could very well be wrong on that).

@BW: well, same old song and dance, bulls & bears battling at $150. People been going broke trying to short this darling all year, so I am naturally wary. I think TSLA is worth < 1/2 what it sells for now, but I been saying that for months. The stock market is no place for rationality.

in the light of day this does not appeal so much, especially after watching APA drop >$1.25 this morning - I was gonna lean on the put side and they've whittled that away some. I will papertrade it and kick myself if I was right.

sold the put leg @ $2.60, netted $2.55 on the spread. If TSLA drops another $20 manana I will not be sad, moving on to the next shoot a fish in a barrel scenario, which is.......???

Goldman sachs is at yearly lows with its implied volatility and historical volatility no so far behind, usually this transpires into a good move. Direction i don't know but with options priced cheap enough I'm taking a strangle position beyond the next earnings results dated for JAN 13 2014,

GS can move when it wants plus Benanke may just help tomorrow when he talks.
