same goes with most FA
we can find examples over and over, where one and the same event was once bought and the other time sold.

How to factor into an analysis the myriad of daily fundamental events around the world, how to judge them.

Yes, one can trend-trade the really big macro events like rate hikes etc., but how to daytrade that?


Try to trade FA without TA and you will be hopelessly lost . JMHO


The most important questions to ask before entering a trade:


how high is the probability for this trade?

where is the point I will admit, that I am wrong?

where is the point, where I will get confirmation for my trade?

how long is the trade valid, not only regarding reasonable price target, but also time-wise?


the rest is all about money management.

if you countertrade, you can set your SL most of the time very narrow.

if you trend trade, there is a need for a wider SL

EU uptrend could be restored now, GU will tell if its sure thing till end of day. Meanwhile disapointed not entering gold long for 50 pips, NY open was keeping me away.

The market is nervous.
The spike up was knee-jerk reaction to weak US data.
The move down was the USD bears who were underwater before the spike, now jumping in and covering... and then the big boys continued covering USD shorts after in anticipation of big FOMC risk event.
Some will argue that it was all a technical move. That may be so, but the catalyst was position adjustments... and still is.
