I have looked around the forum....same banter in ineractive trading....same crap in the trading system forum-everyone looking for the golden goose. I think you are better off trading according to your own terms and observations.....if you know what you are looking at. lol

Ok, I have 4 handles here. Watching to close or perhaps look for clues. To be honest I need to spend some time with the daily and weekly chart. I expect consolidation before the next move.........still in a range imho.

Hey! I'm still around..lol I'm actually using ninjatrader with an iq feed for forex pairs. The candles are actually a modified renko bar (proprietary). It's based on ticks not time so one candle could take seconds or hours just depending. I still look at time based charts to see the landscape.

How are you doing? What's new?

Ahh, so it's renko. sorry for my lack of knowledge

Am currently studying "technical analysis fallacy", while trading S&D/PA. started a new thread, to post charts/trades purely based on S&D/PA. Do drop by if you see I'm doin anything stupid

Easy mistake at a glance because these have wicks. The problem with renko is with stop placement........etc

Changing brokers so I am out of the market for a few days. Slow restart due to anti money laundering laws in the US.

I hope everyone enjoyed the Holidays. I'm looking forward to another year of trading. I've promised myself to manage my time better, no need for me to sit in front of the screen since I'm not a scalper. I can scalp but I would rather place my resting orders and manage them once they are filled and moving. I have consolidated my brokers, currently using 2...only trading with one right now. Both of these brokers are major US brokers since I am bound by the cftc,nfa compliance stuff. Otherwise I would be trading with a Swiss broker.

I'm still pure price action. I am looking at waves, fib levels etc but to be honest-I'm just a s/d minded analyst. I have my triggers-mainly indecision bars in ranging times and inside bars with the trend.

Same stuff, different day.

Feel free to drop a line, I may not be here too often but that is a good thing.

Lot's of news events right after a holiday season can sometimes be a good thing, or a bad thing. I'm pretty sure everyone is back at the trading desks. I'm not talking about retail traders. We've had some funky movements and some of the pairs have been consolidating for days. I am trying not to overthink what the euro is doing...lol Or the Sterling for practical purposes. I can argue for either direction. Now jpy can't be trusted to play nice either....I've seen huge interventions by BOJ. That can ruin your dinner for sure. So I guess we can only trade what we see. I hate that saying, it's so 2006.

Let's see if ej will continue down for a bit.

That chart is not very easy to see. I was looking at the daily pattern of 3 candles, a hikkake with the short term trend.

A lot of nothing from eur/jpy. Today may end like yesterday. NFP tomorrow.

I'm watching usd/cad, usd/jpy, eur/jpy, aus/usd. I can imagine aud eventually getting to 85....but I do have a vivid imagination. I think I read that somewhere last week. I try not to get jaded with spin from the news. I just keep everything in check. As far as the loonie, I would like to see a correction and a trigger to get long again. I don't think the pounding is over for them.....plenty of grief to go around these days. Anything interesting happens I'll post a chart.
