When using the Gadi_OBV channel breakout strategy you can enter the trade based on the breakout with support of Gadi_TickVolume (above/below "0") and Gadi_NormalizedVolume direction only. No need for Gadi_NormalizedVolume being aqbove average.

For other cases/techniques - you can use the Gadi_TickVolume + Gadi_NormalizedVolume (above average & color matching).

i think it really tired watching monitor to find right signal whole day.
gg53 you can add alert function to gadi_currency?
if you really worry whether someone who sell your source then i think you can add alert function to gadi_currency
then pls share in here.
or if you don't have much time..i volunteer to modify code.

Hi GG

Switched the EA off now I'm making pips using the gadi obv. What an excellent indicator combined with the others i have recovered most off my lost pips in the last 5 days. Like dewey said though is there a way off adding an alert to the obv so that it alerts when a pair crosses out of the KZ.
Fantastic work to all the coders out there and many thanks from me as i am gradually getting my confidence back to start trading my live account again.

Thanks. I had another 3 for 3 winners last night. GBPUSD would have been a winner as well but I went to bed before it triggered a signal. The first time it showed a signal there was no confirmation but it gave a good signal later. AUDUSD is still in the KZ as I write this, so no trade there. I am loving this!

Now if I only had an alert on the OBV to make life easier while staring at charts....

Anyways, great job GG and thanks for everything!

Because of the up and down news regarding the US government shutdown and debt crisis I have been going for just 10 pips to get in and out fast. Later I plan to experiment a little more--I am thinking spitting the trades in 2, taking half off at 10 pips and trailing the 2nd half.

Here is how the Gadi OBV keeps you out of trouble. There was no trade on the AUDUSD last night since there was no break from the channel. See how price goes nowhere. It would have been hard to do anything with price action like that

Hi Dewey,

Nice trades buddy. One question to your GU trade. I see first signal as valid according to rules - channel breakout, blue uptick above 0, blue volume bar. Or am I missing something? Why you didn't trade it (or what exactly is your confirmation then) ?

Good question. I like to see the angle of the tick volume histogram match the direction I want to take on the trade. I am not sure where I got that from--maybe confused it with another system, but I am a more conservative trader and it seems to be a safer entry. On the 2nd signal the angle matched, as did the winners on the other trades. Maybe GG can tell us whether that is important or not.

Great trades and almost "by the book"...
I'm not using any angles comparison - although it might be another parameter to the strategy.

My rules are quite simple and already stated many times:
BASIC:
LONG: Enter LONG on first color match (both indies BLUE) And Gadi_NormalizedVolume is above average and Gadi_TickVolume is above "0".
SHORT: Enter SHORT on first color match (both indies RED) And Gadi_NormalizedVolume is above average and Gadi_TickVolume is below "0".

ADVANCED (additional trades to the above BASIC strategy):
Long: Enter LONG on first color match (both indies BLUE) And Gadi_NormalizedVolume is above average and Gadi_TickVolume is below "0" AND showing at least two consecutive BLUE bars (confirmation of start of down/counter trend).
SHORT: Enter SHORT on first color match (both indies RED) And Gadi_NormalizedVolume is above average and Gadi_TickVolume is above "0" AND showing at least two consecutive RED bars (confirmation of start of down/counter trend).

Don't:
A. DON'T enter a trade if the entry bar is larger than X2-X2.5 than its average previous ones !!
It means that most of the pips are already "eaten" and the next bars will be either "consolidation" or reversal.
B. If not in profit after 4 bars - get out of this trade, no matter where the SL is.

There are other strategies using those indicators.

Thanks for your kind words.
The strategy will be better if someone here can find us an "average volume per session" (Asian, London, New-York) with start/end time for each as an external parameter.
