Great insights you bring to the thread, FTI. Thank you very much for being patient and generous to the newbies or willing students. Though we may not get that dealing experience, by showing the process, we can delve into the minds of the big guys. True as you said, what we can do is strategize from that knowledge. Been reading your precious thread, and as much as possible doesn't want to miss any discussion. Am not one who usually posts my thoughts, but want to take this opportunity to thank YOU and the contributors for such great thread and discussions. Also love the humor everyone brings.

FTI, thank you very much for leading giving so much to the thread. May the Good Lord continue to bless you always with strength and good health....

Of course not. I've performance anxiety... no, not "that" thingy

Maybe I still feel like I've read most of what is here but something is still missing from the puzzle...

I've already moved away from previous conditioning, but I'm still wondering how much of my prior knowledge on trading I should bring to the table when implementing what I've learned here?

ADD: so something's missing, i know what, no green pips, correct?
but you must understand, trading needs have aptitude and skills . Is not like you can download the stuff into you.
you need to use what you learn and adjust self to it and practise while eyeing to see whats difference its doing and then may come to realisation where else need improvements, boost performance.

If you want learn how change by studying what helps others, then you need be a good self analyst. If you was good self analyst, you probably not need read the thread.

there's nothing here that a pro trader doesn't know already.

Thanks fti, many people stress the importance of demo. Even when not in the markets with real money, people still on demo accounts getting a feel for the market.

I've been told to have different demo accounts to try what works for me, but no, I'm stubborn, I just want to use what's in this thread since I've spent some time looking at different systems and this method, well, I really like it. I know there's no Holy Grail, but I am feeling like this is it, this is The method for me. So, I will try my best.

Right now, I am watching Wall Street, 1987 version (the year I was born ). Gordon Gekko just quoted Sun-Tsu AOW to Charlie Sheen in the locker room.

demo is for newbie to learn how easy it is to burst the accounts. If any one takes seriously his demoing. He will learn very fast what not to do.
But it not teach what to do.
When person can replace the what not to do with new knowledge of what one need do make pips , then one finds path.
but as one walks up that learning curve, then one realises that making pips is not really so hard. But making it consistently is where the difficulty.
because on the crest of the path, it can go 2 ways.
is either one understudies with mentors thats brings one to new insights of managing risk, or one can digress to push for performance and backslides to the mass trading mentality. And if one backslides , is even harder standup again. Because revisiting old learning, the interest level will not be there, because one is relearning old stuff. my observation of most that retrains is that their minds generally not sharp and as focused. So the retraining become much much harder, mostly because they think they know already and will miss much fine points. Is like remarrying your divorced wife. The zest mostly is missing and harder get lightbulb moments.

the easiest way destroy a well trained trader is to put him/her in a trading competition.
After that all the deceptions overrides.

Oh by the way, there 2 ways read AOW.
one is by ego, ther other is with humility. The results differs.

1 way which i used to benchmark which trader is making good , is when i listen to them speak.
Mostly analyst of same disciplines , they not see too differently one from another.
but i know the one that has predictions, that one will likely fails. whereas the one who has contingency strategies instead have good chance make it.

May i ask what is meant by compound formations ?

My understanding, pls correct me, is for example , a double top.
If a double top forms on the daily and then a double forms on the hourly, would that count as a compound formation ?

but if one have friendlys but different colours that will not send you sidewinder gifts while all are flying then you fly a little safer.
sometimes lone colours may like join your squadron. If then you have to fly in formations. the flip side in large squardons is that any one flying in formations if not discipline can cause midair collision and destroy the synergy. Also if squadron is too big can make for easy targets.

With friendlys, even when you crash, someone can send help when needed, if you manage eject.
