mt4 question

I am completely new to MT4 and hate to ask such a naive question but
as I don`t know what kind of conditions can be tested for using MT4 I have to ask.
I am a big fan of the Bollinger bands because I feel that while most indicators are useless the bollinger bands help me a lot with entrance and exit points.
There is a re-occurring candlestick patterns that I see where I would bet my dogs life on the results ...(poor dog, I already cut his balls off .I thought OJ Simpson would be found guilty).
When the shadows (wicks not candle bodies ) extend out of the bollinger bands by 15 to 20 or more pips on a 15 min chart it signals extreme exhaustion and probabilities are very high for a reversal in price.
Can this be tested for?

Also if you don't want to get your hands dirty with automatic backtesting you can also use MT4 to do manual backtesting, its easier and requires no programming knowledge, you basically go back in time and re-play the chart candle by candle: http://www.forexfactory.com/forexfor...10&postcount=4

I do want to actually learn to use mt4 myself but it will take a lot of time and I do worry about whether it is all worth the effort.
You seem to be very well educated in the use of this program Soso,
Have you yourself ,or do you know anyone who has actually developed a system with it that they trade live and make a living with?

BB based system don't tend to test well IMHO. Went through Bollinger's book and coded most of the trading strategies. Not stunning - much like the old Turtle systems - people don't tend to publish trading systems which still work....
