Forward guidance works a treat if you are the banks & the Lord of Money has forward guided for you.
by the way - and to get a communal EW count going:

have a look at XAUUSD since today's low from 1,292. Notice on M5 how the rise starts with what looks like a 3 wave structure ("3w", to distinguish from wave 3) up, then a 3w structure down, followed by this 5w impulse up.The impulse is currently in its subwave 5 - which in commodities extends... so XAU (and XAG) should still have some upside. Don't take my word for it - I'm just getting a count going since there are a few people interested in EW.

We'll follow it as it unfolds from the low at 1,292

edit: had to correct the spelling on 'communal' up there... looked like "Communist Manifesto" when i checked my post!

Yea so the message is now let's get ready for a QE4 ? But surely same way these smart foxes will find a new trick to let peoples anticipate a QE4 and suddenly start taper for real ?

I believe main message is yes, QE has somehow improved labour conditions (or just avoided a total crash). So if this was the main anti-crash system, there MUST be another tool (else that forward guidance) to come or already in action. But what?

BB will leave the boat soon, and like to say that yes QE has had some result but I'm sure he'll be happy not to be there anymore when the question will be: okay, we've played QE card(s), still not reached target, so? What do we do now??

This coming question is the one that may have been enough for Larry Summers withdrawing from Fed chair consideration. The hawkish guy may have heard from this conference contents last Sunday...So if even hawkish are afraid by evidence of UNtapering, who can challenge this then? Dovish Janet Yellen ? With coming issues about fiscal debate and debt ceiling vote...Draghi will have serious work coming in next to keep the EUR "below the agreed bands" toward US. Not sure the old Greek bonds stuff would be enough that time.

Hey PT, I got some news saying you're gonna engaged into the race as a Fed chair frontrunner ? When are you giving the conference ?

i think his own personal boner comes from looking at the equities spike up - but what he doesn't know is that those are diverging so hard at all TFs that a blood-draining reversal is pretty much guaranteed!

After reading this thread. I've made Coyote my profile picture!

I'm holding off placing any trades with the USD at the moment. As much as I think the USD will bounce back I don't have much of an insight or opinion when that will be and therefore I guess its all about being patient and waiting right? It could be hours or days until it turns around...or longer(?)

I'm kinda new to Forex trading so I'm just watching and learning to see how the market and charts react to this news.
Im also gonna take the evening off...

Have slept for 3 hors in the last 2 days preparing for this event... Which was about as far from an anti-climax as could be

playing crywolf never works out well. Prechter (orone of his analysts) makes the point that the Fed think that it is they who control the markets. They walk the walk and talk the talk. To some extent they do, but only because market participants defer to the central banks. Now that the Fed has cried wolf (and cost a lot of people a lot of money on false "forward guidance") sentiment will start to turn against the Fed. Soon they will discover that they do not, in fact, have control over the market - and never really had.
