Closing thoughts for the week
A lot of folks have been caught off guard by the strong performance of the British Pound lately... I am one of them
Trying to short any GBP related pair seems tantamount to stepping in front of a freight train in an attempt to stop it...
Here are some thoughts on Cable, hopefully, taking a 40,000 ft view may put things in context so we can make some money
1- She seems to have completed a classic 5 point reversal pattern, where point 5 is higher than point 3 and has broken through the supply line
2- The next "obvious" targets (supply zones) are painted on my chart; a stop on the 78.6 would make a case for a Bearish Gartley, but I think its prudent to remain aware that there is a possibility of a full-on reversal... (I don't normally care for Goldman's opinions, but they are on record in the last 24 hours, saying that they don't expect a taper announcement on Wednesday)
Either way, there seems to be an "easy" 130 pips of upside on the table, before she needs to make up her mind... and we can easily see this in the early half of next week before the fed event

Hi Megapipper, Pipper and Pipettes, Friends :-) just about time to close books for weekend. I want to thank all of you for your nice participation, trades, trading ideas and analyzes, as well as for all the fun we had this days (regardless of green or red pips). Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. For me it was a good week on EU and Gold, waiting game for SP500 drop, and a bad week on GU. This bastard keeps on creeping higher. Positioning for long term trades has become very tough these days, whereas the short term trading is more kind of easy...
Enjoy the weekend and don't forget to hug someone every day.

In the mean time, I leave you with this, as you can see, EU has also broken through the supply line, but it is not as convincing... with that said, the two charts share certain key characteristics which I think are important... and as always, we can never understate the value of the overarching macro/fundamental conditions (the British economy is looking stronger with every piece of data that we have seen lately + transparency under Carney as at an all time high, cannot say the same for the Euro Zone despite Draghi's best efforts/intentions)
I am not suggesting we trade off the weekly's, but, they may help us to not miss the forest while navigating through the trees...
