Commerzbank is recommending buying GBP/USD at current levels anticipating strong UK jobs tomorrow and upbeat retail sales data on Thursday.
A cluster of resistance looms around yesterday’s high, the 200-week moving average and the June high of 1.5752. I prefer to buy on a break but if the data is good, it could be a swift move.
They recommend taking profit at 1.5990 with a stop at 1.5610.

So when (not if) the numbers come in as (or weaker than) expected, price will make a technical move down to 5630 where the big boys will push price through support to trigger all those retail stop losses at 5610. Nice strategy.

GBPUSD is at it's top weekly SMA200 just now. The market has to bring up enorm energy to pulverizes this line when it will push up this pair more up.

Your comments made me look at the weekly picture, and I am glad I did..

this is what i see:

the bear:
unqualified breakout
61.8 fib (could be major overhead resistance)

the bull:
bullish momentum divergence

to me, this means we are in a bit of a no trade zone... maybe rub one out till the market gives us a direction!!

i tend on lean on fibs heavily for my discretionary work, so if i were to take a short it would be something like this:
short at the 61.8, stop above the 88, target T1/2 at the 127/161.8... but being weekly, this would take a year or so to play out!!!

ftr, i am sitting on a half size long which i took yesterday, currently up a few pips, but trailing it tightly

Do think EUR/YEN 136 to 138

Not sure about that retrace
