Every Instrument has its own wave length, its own frequency.

System cannot gauge every instrument with accuracy. You may have to code each instrument separately.

By then Hair would turn grey....or Baldness may prevail.

Its best to get aquainted with 1 or 2 to get bread and butter. Even then there is no need for wasting Time.

Best to keep it simple.

though i dont entirely agree with what you said, i think it is more true on the lower TF's than the higher ones...

your code can optimize the settings/parameters for each instrument you trade, its not that hard to do

however, the foundation requirement of this is a rock solid back testing engine

AND

it must be flexible enough to remain adaptive, because market conditions change (weekly optimization routines?)

AND

it must have a human operator override capability, because people are smarter than computers (generally speaking... maybe?)

i have seen some complex systems in person not on Internet.... And also have access to them but I prefer to trust myself. What I do manually is also rule based and it's been working .

few years down the road you may understand what I am trying to say.

if you are trying to automate this then they say " you can't eat the cake and have it too"

dont mean to discourage or offend.

though my system is quite mature at this stage already,

i will say that you are right, i lost a lot of sleep, and gained a few greys, while i was developing it

my algo is my bread and butter system, which runs parallel to my discretionary trading

i guess as long as a trader can pull ticks out of the market and into their account, its all that matters

I do not know whether what you're doing with Fibo is correct. Obtained, but only for a case.

Make sense, but in my case I look for particular defined swing, which does not happen often in a few instrument in that particular TF. (1h and above)

I think it would make much more sense when we trade smaller TF, in that situation it will be important to know the pulse and beat of it to be able to dance with it smoothly , but as in my case where I trade a particular movement of a TF not less than the hourly the outcome will be more or less the same because each movement is just the consequence of the previous one despite the instrument.

Only my perception.

i know exactly what you mean...

my reason for measuring the way i did was this:
if you start at the bottom (7719), you will notice that pretty much every swing has been within a fib measurement... and they all line up almost perfectly... assuming continuity, and to avoid turning the chart into a clusterf*$k, i measured it this way!

appreciate you making the point tho, and I cannot say it is orthodox, but it works more often than not... i prefer the extensions to the projections
