Firstly I ain't going to invest with a trader who makes 20 pips in a year. I rather leave my money in the bank, but I get your point for illustration purposes.
Sure the 200 pip guy is looking interesting but that is 2 months, how do I know in the next 2 months who isn't going to drop 1000 pips.
The first guy gives me a little more comfort on this front.

Track record isn't everything but it does count for a helluva lot. I guess its finding that right balance. Less than a year is always risky stuff as people can get lucky.

LENGHT of track record is not important...I said

being an academic, the most important is how statistical significant the results are, why not calculate that ?

I take your point, anything less than fully automated is open to abuse. Oanda does have a MT4 facility but I set up my sub-accounts as regular fxtrade types.

One more question, are you, or would you, consider setting up a forum for, say the top quartile for example, of leader-board members? Would be interesting to hear from the top traders you have, in one place discussing strategies, systems and life in general.

The statistical significance of the results is calculated in our RAPA Score, that is how we are able to compare traders with lots of different lengths in track record. We also say that in the 1st year we can place less reliance on our Score, that is due to the statistical significance.

Unfortunately you don't get it - serious money will never invest with someone who claims to be able to make 15% per month. That would make you better than the best investors on the whole planet. Your system you are referring to is a martingale strategy which will no doubt blow up in due course, mathematically it always will no matter what spin you give on it. It is not a question of if only when. I don't wish to be rude but I find outlandish claims by people in this industry very annoying.

My last point on the matter is that you claim these fantastic returns while still trading on a demo account, RAPA never allocates 1 cent to anybody based on a demo account and no demo account will feature on our Leaderboard. This is what I had to say recently about demo accounts.

Dear Mickson

First of all I should tell you that my strategy is not a martingale strategy and it is comeletly based on support and resistance lines , so if I tell I can earn more than 15 % is not mean that it will happen every month , but I can sure you that my total risk management will be just 15 % and in other hand only 1/2 total profit .

I am trading for more than 8 years and I tested my trading style for more than 3 yeas , fully tested . The reason that I do not have real account is I have problem to send out money from my country as some bank transfer sanction as you know and if decide to fund my account via 3rd party , the broker will not accept , so I decide to manage other investor's capital to earn money my friend .

so you only let me manage an account of 10,000 USD , then I will show you how my trading style and money management and my knowledege make 5-8 % monthly profit . I think 10,000 USD is nothing for your company who offer 2m USD to other traders . If not , so please check my demo results for next 2 month , if it is positive like now , then give me a chance to manage your account . OK ???

Sorry but I totally disagree and so should you. In your opening post and your website you aim for traders and that's a different league. Traders, when successful, are not there to make 1 or 2% a month. They use leverage and are not in some sort of buy and hold strategy for a hedge fund average performance. Investors for those alternative styles know that and are probably just allocating a small portion of their net worth.

A good trader has to make a nice performance compared to a healthy haircut. Any market maker on the floor or propriety trader that fails to make considerable money on his account, will be laid of at the end of the year by his boss or those who fund him. When a "western" trader is using his own money and assuming he has to pay for the bills and taxes, he needs some 1mln to trade with, if 1 or 2% per month is made.

In my opinion a trader should make a lot more, maybe not 15% a month. The most important thing for him to do is keeping a good eye on risk/return with some max draw down and small risk per position. It's known that back in 2008 investors that had large accounts with banks lost double digits (maybe half of their account held at that bank) because the traditional banks and hedge funds didn't cut their positions, they are only able to look at the sky. With a good trader this won't happen, however with a cowboy trader this could of course.
Its about risk-adjusted returns - not your % number. If you go for 15% per month, its going to be a lot more messy than an investor will be able to stomach(unless you found the actual grail). Madoff had billions under management with consistent 1.5% per month, but with basically zero drawdown and volatility - and that is what investors by and large want.

Hi All,

I would like to add to this original thread and say that we have more than $15m of capital available for our Omega product. Essentially if you can demonstrate a RAPA Score above 60 with a track record of longer than 1 year, you are more than likely to receive a capital allocation.
