For traders who are working full time in the industry what percentages return on capital per year are they expected to make?

Hi Milam. Hope you're doing well.

Return expectations are very individualized. For someone trading with a $1000 account, they would have to double their account every month in order to sustain a modest income. Therefore they would need a very aggressive approach to trading, which also comes with high risks.
Now for someone trading a 100k account, they would not be under pressure to perform as well. In this case, depending on their monthly income needs, wants or goals, I would say that 5% to 10% would be typical per month... and that is very highly achievable in this business.
Unfortunately the majority of traders you see in FF are working with small accounts because they are chasing a dream that they can get rich quick with just $1000 in startup. While it is certainly doable by a seasoned trader, for a newbie it is a recipe for disaster.
This of course is assuming that trading profits is their only (or at least main) income.

Hi Friends, good morning everybody


Every pleasure has to end sometimes, so has my vacation.

I am back home and the reality slowly sets in. Having spent the last nearly four weeks with many people in small rooms at remote places, I do feel a bit lonely in my apartment now. But the bed was wonderful :-)

I am already missing the great views above the Alpes when opening my eyes or chewing my breakfast.

Looking at the floor of my living room, where all of my equipment and luggage is laying, I am highly motivated to just pack things again and travel back to the places I love to be.

But there is more than enough work for me which is required to be done.

I have to admit: I got the blues.......


I hope October is approaching fast: there is my next chance for some nice mountains


Even so I do hope, that you all had an outstanding time and that you were able to reap a boatload of green pips in the meantime.
