There is always a tendency to want to 'push' the count.
Wave vb should complete above wave iv 1394.39.
OR...........
It's all over [Long] and we have a Down Trend..............

Uturn gold chart has Copsey's pattern. Didn't u have his book? ( Harmonic Elliott Wave - The Case for Modification of R. N. Elliotts Impulsive Wave Structure ) He has best elliott book in the world. That book is my teacher.

Hi sanacasta, I haven't read Ian's book,
however I have studied his videos,
saved screenshots and read his web pages and blogs.
I also use the spreadsheet, and am getting a feel for it.
I agree. HEW makes more sense to me too.
Ian's GOLD count differs from yours,
however both counts have the same iii c [high].
Looks like GOLD is topping.
I will take another look though,
and see if I can make more sense of the pattern.

i think bigger chart has still bear counts. but sure Copsey has better counts. I have a lot of book elliott but my real book is Copsey's.

Hi Sanacasta

Many thanks for those kinds words. The modifications I've made make a lot of sense to me. May I just point out a few things I have noted from your counts that I feel will help you with your counting.

In the first chart above you have a Wave 3 that is less than 176.4% of Wave 1. You will find the minimum for Wave 3 is 176.4%.

In the second chart you have a quadruple three and have labelled another Wave x which would make it a quintuple three. I agree with R.N. Elliott that the maximum is a triple three. I also note your Wave W. I grew up with plain old ABC X ABC X ABC. That's a triple three and from your labelling that's a W. So overall the count doesn't really make sense in terms of the first ABC X and then the W.

I also get the impression that you are picking swing highs and lows. Remember that there can be deep Wave b of Wave iii's in there and may look like the end of an impulsive wave but these will trick you. There are also mini Wave b of Wave iii's that don't look like a Wave b... It is therefore important that you use the spreadsheet to measure. You will find that the spreadsheet will teach you a lot about the Harmonic Elliott Wave structure because in many instances you will find swing highs/lows are not necessarily the waves you think they might be. It means you need - where you can - to measure on the lowest time frame and I use the 5-min chart predominantly, sometimes even a 1-min chart where there are sharp reactions. You will also find alternation in depth as an excellent tool.

If I was you, I would learn from Ian Copsey.

However, I much prefer Ian's HEW Impulsive Wave Structure
[shown below],
coupled with his spreadsheet for forecasting wave targets,

Take a look in the video area which has a range of short explanations on how various parts of the structure develop. WHile it's a long video, the one at the top right of the blog gives an overview of the adjustments to the impulsive wave structure. (Take note of the last forecast for the S&P.)

just a little questions

how much trades do you make in a avg month ? what is the lowest time frame do you trade? (1m ? 5m? 15m?)

(i know from the original elliot wave that its not so frequent)
