Just wanted to say thank you to Jafar. I had never used an EA before and had lots of trouble trying to get the level 2 app to work properly. I assumed it was full of bugs but it was a pebkac issue. Jafar patiently took me through it over two emails and its now working fine. I am so impressed! To get that sort of personal attention from a head of the company is nothing short of incredible.

I opened an account with FXopen back in January but couldnt bring myself to fund it due to lack of trust. I continued searching for a better/cheaper trustworthy broker including offshore institutional ecn's. There is none that compares, not Currenex, not Lmax, no one, unless you have 50k and even then, they were equivalent at best. The only broker with comparable trading cost in Australia was cmc markets but they are a market maker, and were still a little dearer than standard accounts with FXOpen.

I had an account with cmc for two years. We had erroneous price spikes, massive execution delays (we're talking minutes!) and requotes galore back then while they gouged our accounts. There were lots of issues to resolve. They took 10k off me in trading costs over that period. I never even knew who the company heads were let alone have them personally handle my complaints. I cant believe I was actually reconsidering them over FXOpen

Im calling this broker, FXOpen AUS, the best and cheapest period and putting my money where my mouth is and funding my account with 10k.

I apologise for my critisism and complaints in the past

Sincerely,
Doug Gardiner

Which pair are you looking at? CHF pairs for examples will always be a little spiky.

Hi Wendigo

Live and Demo charts differ because of the liquidity simulation on our demo servers which also includes virtual liquidity from other demo traders. I can't say whether it is worse or better because comparing a real market to a simulated one is not possible.

Rather nice when it's zero

BTW, you can monitor and compare spreads between different brokers in real time from http://www.forexfactory.com/brokers.php#spreads

0.00 is an invalid trade volume. Put in at least 0.10 lots for the buy/sell to become active.

I did not know this, as other ECN style brokers have made it clear there were no limits on open orders and some no limit on order size. My understanding is that the broker sets the max open ticket limits. Although many (especially Market Maker type brokers) do have open limits per acct: 100-1000.

I think brokers almost all have a max daily requests per acct (open/close/modify/cancel) at 7000 or something like that. I can understand from a technological standpoint why some restraints may be necessary; mainly "fair use" type of policies.

MBT had something similar, where after a certain threshold they would start charging for pending or cancelled orders if the cancel/fill ratio was too high (like 95%).

Well they probably there is no limit because almost no trader will ever have 1000 trades at the same time or even 100 trades is

That's right. In my 8+ years of monitoring, I've never seen anyone get past 500 or so open orders. There is always a first time of course

How much 1 minute historical data do you store on your servers? Some brokers seem to only go back 3-4 months or so.

Is there a difference in live historical data and demo historical data, in terms of how much?

We keep data back to 2009 when FXOpen launched the ECN technology behind us.
