Is sterling running out of steam ?

I would like to see that to load up some more shorts

Looks like it to me.
If you want to go long Sterling, maybe the best way would be to short EUR/GBP or go long GBP/NZD
The GBP/USD pair is all about the USD from here forward and I cannot see the USD beaten down any more. It clearly wants to fly.

I am looking @ gbpchf short, on the 15m I have a new High, a break out and I am looking to sell below the low of the breakout (a 2B pattern or micro "M" pattern).

RR is 1:2 @ the recent swing low.

I might consider a GBPCHF short, but not at these levels. I would rather look at 1.4195 area which is the support turned resistance of the longer term rising trend line on the daily chart

On M15, it looks to me that we are in a small wave 4 flat consolidation before the next upward move towards 1.4195 to complete wave 5

Your thoughts?

ADD: I should add that if the Euro takes a bit hit from a dovish Draghi, some of that outflow will go to the Sterling which should give the GBP/CHF enough of a boot to reach and retest that trendline at 4195

Yes, your levels make sense to me, also a 38.3 retracement of the completed monthly candle.

But we do not know for sure when price will get there and how they will react once there, of course a confluence of TA it is a indication that many traders will see the same thing and act in the same direction but we also know that many traders will look for the same pattern to fail, because that will fuel prices in their direction once the trapped (piptrapper ) traders needs to cover.

Shorting the gbpchf might get the bulls trapped just to get to my TP, I am bit worried about this news coming up that will create that volatility to trigger my entry and my SL and then just to see prices go in my direction, but I am not in yet.

What are your thought of the coming news?

Der 1. August ist der offizielle Nationalfeiertag in der Schweiz. Die drei Urkantone Uri, Schwyz und Unterwalden schlossen sich im "Ewigen Bund" zusammen.

1. August - Nationalfeiertag

Vielleicht nicht auf der ganzen Welt bekannt, begehen die Schweizerinnen und Schweizer jeweils am 1. August ihren Nationalfeiertag mit vielen Festen, Festansprachen und Höhenfeuern. Natürlich darf zum Schluss auch das Feuerwerk nicht fehlen.
Am 1. August wird in der ganzen Schweiz der Entstehnung der Eidgenossenschaft gedacht. Die Eidgenossenschaft geht, wie es der Name schon vermuten lässt, auf einen Schwur zurück. Jedenfalls will es die Legende so. Im Jahre 1291 nach Christus trafen sich drei Vertreter der 3 Waldstätten Uri, Schwyz und Unterwalden auf der Rütliwiese um ein Verteidigungsbündnis gegen die Österreicher und andere Feinde zu treffen. Um das Bündnis zu besiegeln, schworen sie den "Rütlischwur", den heute jedes Kind in der Schweiz kennt. Apropos Kind: Die Rütliwiese gehört übrigens der Schweizer Jugend. Mit diesem Schwur hat also alles begonnen und es gesellten sich mit der Zeit und den Jahrhunderten immer mehr Kantone friedlich oder auch kriegerisch zu den Urkantonen bis sich die Schweiz, wie sie heute existiert, gebildet hatte. Dieser Tatsache nun gedenken also die Schweizerinnen und Schweizer jedes Jahr am 1.August. An diesem Tag werden Hunderte von Reden gehalten, Tausende Würste verspiesen und natürlich für Millionen von Franken Feuerwerk in den Himmel geschossen. An manchen Orten geht es auch besinnlicher zu und her: Mit Höhenfeuer und Schweigeminuten wird über die Vergangenheit, die Zukunft und das Leben ganz allgemein sinniert. Es ist ein schöner Brauch, dass wir unseren Schweizer Nationalfeiertag mit Höhenfeuern weithin sichtbar machen. Denn Höhenfeuer, die über Täler und Berge hinweg leuchten , sind ein starkes Symbol der Zusammengehörigkeit.
Auf jeden Fall sollte man, wenn man als Tourist in der Schweiz ist, die Möglichkeit nutzen an diesen 1.August Festivitäten teilzunehmen. In diesem Sinn wünsche ich allen einen schönen Schweizer Nationalfeiertag.


Über die Eidgenössische Volksinitiative für einen arbeitsfreien Bundesfeiertag (1. August-Initiative) wurde am 26. Sept. 1993 vom Schweizer Volk abgestimmt. Mit 83% wurde die 1.August Initiative angenommen.
Die Schweizer Bundesverfassung wurde wie folgt ergänzt:
Art. 116bis
Der 1. August ist in der ganzen Eidgenossenschaft Bundesfeiertag.
Er ist arbeitsrechtlich den Sonntagen gleichgestellt.
Der Bundesfeiertag wird der Zahl der Feiertage nach Artikel 18 Absatz 2 des Arbeitsgesetzes vom 13. März 1964 nicht angerechnet
Offizieller Schweizer Feiertag
Der 1. August wurde 1994 erstmals als offizieller eidgenössischer Feiertag gefeiert.

Italienisch: Festa nazionale della Svizzera
Englisch: Swiss National Holiday

Here's wave 5 completing now.
Now we see if the broken trend line holds as resistance. Candlestick PA should lead the way from there.
What I expect is either a B wave or a wave 2 ABC (Not sure which because I have not done a full ew analysis on this pair)

As for the EZ ECB rate statement and press conference, that's probably going to be quite a volatile event. Whether or not it starts the impulse 3 of 3 of 3 down I am expecting in the EUR/USD is another question. We might have to wait for NFP for that.

How you could understand my trading style in a more global sense.

I trade often with 1/10 orders so I have the freedom to go at different entry- & exit levels in and out of the market and I can sleep extremely well during my absence of the forex maret when not monitoring the abrupt price movements here and there.
My target is 0.25-0.5% per day.

Put something by for a rainy day?
Surplusses (0.5% > would be transferred into my warchest.
It's my LOM concept (Loss Order Management)

I like to trade with different accounts.
It make no sense to double, triple, quadruple one account. Put it away. If you compare the market movements every year you could realize extremely price movements within one month or so. This is cash days for big capital algorithm trading & could pulverize your account within minutes.

Stop Loss?
Okay here you can say "Forexcube why didn't you activate Stop Loss in your trading. My simple answer is: I make more money the other way around in preventing the stop loss hunting algorithm. It seems a great discussion about using SL or no her at FF. I respect all traders who set a SL, but it's not my way. Furthermore market environments often motivate me for hedging.

I don't like to trade with SL & using it rarely.
Why? The market fluctuation seems too much and my money management is stable enough when trading with several 1/10 orders - empirical values for my trading style with my personality. Every trader has to work out his own trading style which fits best for him.

When I publish trading comments at infinitus' marvellous thread here be mindful of it, please.
