i think learning to be pissed off when you loose at demo is a good thing. Then you have the belief that demo and real accounts should have the same psychology because you are making the same trades - its not about the trades. Its about having the skill to win win win!

Learn to read fool.

Davit said technical analysis won't work without fundamentals and world news, and I disagreed because I don't use any fundies or news in my trade decisions.

Of course I have a price chart, but its a naked barebones chart with no indicators, and it tells me all I need to know... and that's called trading price action.

Your right, and I sometimes look at naked charts for trade ideas, I think people need to try out a few different strategies that work for them not everything is going to work for everyone, because everyone has there own risk tolerance, most strategies work you just have to develop the correct psychology.

Fair call, I just think that
demo will insult your ego at most.
live will insult your ego AND take something from you where the only way to get back is to make it back.
It forces a certain type of discipline that demo can't because you cannot pour limitless amounts of real money into the market, so each trade becomes 100 times more important even on a small account.
This in turn makes you think harder and more deeply, pushing you to better yourself.

yeah, thats a good point. i guess i just like my mini 100$ account the best. It depends on the person!

Sometimes you need to know when to cut your losses. Not just in a trade, but in real life too. If trading is obstructing your life and causing problems to your happiness, it's time to quit. You might just have a gambling addiction.

since im a noobie i started demoing last month. from pure price action without indicators to 6 indicators down to 2 indicators. i can say that im lucky i did not rush going live. there's what we call beginners luck your strategy works for a few hours/days then burn the account in minutes. if you've been demoing for three years and you can see that your strategy always fails then maybe try a different strategy again. your strategy must go with the market not the market must go with your strategy if you have same results then i think trading is not for you. everything happens for a reason. ps sorry for my poor english

What do you mean by a consistent profit? If it refers to gaining positive pips every day, I think a consistent profit is not easy nor possible for all traders.
If you can make profit in the long run, I think there is no problem with your strategies.

I agree it happens, I knew a guy that had a serious gambling problem, he would blow his account away all the time, 20 and 30k at a time, he was making a nice 100k a year but when you blow through about 40k in a year just in trading there is something wrong.

i think u should try on live account, because it will be different from using demo account for trading (IMO), but at least u must have a system that at least profitable....u cannot win on all trades, but if u can make a consistent profit, that is enough....

I wish they would give me that kind of money if they just want to play around with it anyway, I'd turn them a profit. My issue isn't that I don't know how to trade profitably it's that I don't have a decent account size being young and still not being in my professional job.

why did i close the usdchf arggggh. anyway i learn another lesson... the red lines intersection was where i stop loss because it was going up and because of my fucking emotion i SL immediately even though my strategy tells me not to.... lesson for me today follow your indicator and strategy not what you feel. it was already 85% return in just 35 hours... PS DEMO GOODNIGHT its almost midnight in my country have to go to school tomorrow
