I'm in Nairobi Kenya.There is a large expatriate community due to UNEP headquarters.English speaking, good schools,hospitals and reliable internet. plus nice weather and its GMT+3.
also no capital gains tax.

and if u are into black ....there's a lot of beautiful women.

LOL if I am spending 12+ hours everyday trading or learning to, I am definitely not ultra-rich and definitely not able to afford Louis Vuitton's (although my favorite is actually Valentino. I could never get Louis Vuitton). Too bad it's so expensive to live in Singapore nowadays. :-((

Could be a good time to buy that beachfront property in Brazil, with the real crashing and all. I have been touring (via Google Earth) places south of Sao Paulo - in Parana and Santa Catarina States. Has anybody here lived/visited there? I like the time zone....I am overdue a change of scene....somewhere warm and laid back sounds nice....

Well, Brazil has some nice places but safety is an issues you need to consider as well. The rapidly declining economy can escalate the situation there.

No, I have lived in Chile but only visited Brazil .. I know expats living in the Rio area and safety is always a concern. Finding the right place to live is not that easy but I guess it is a 1. world problem

I like South America especially Peru but Columbia is also on the radar - maybe that is where I will go next after Thailand.

I have been in Phuket for the last 2.5 years but find the time difference interferring with my lifestyle, the weather is a bit too humid, and I'm ready for something new.

Europe IMHO is ideal for the time zone. And Colombia seems great for winter? Then again maybe Malta in Winter wouldn't be bad either?

Anyone have any feedback for: Medellin Colombia, Sofia Bulgaria, Bucharest Romania?

HAWAII is the true paradise for sure for me and my wife.We have tge GrennCard now and planning to live on the Islands in the next 1-3 years.I have been played the GreenCrad-lottery for 25 years now and I am ready to trade as a living.Timezone is no problem as I am trading just the Daily Timeframe with 4 different systems and so my day begins @ 11 oclock midday and ends 3 hours later after I have placed all my Trades.
Right now we are living in Germany which is quite safe and okay but the cold weather is killing me over the years.
Its time to move to a friendlier place with more Aloha.
Only problem in Hawaii is cost of living.But it is nearly the same as in germany so nothing new for us.


1 - Great weather and scenery (preferably tropical or mountains)-HAWAII=YES;GERMANY=NO
2 - Inexpensive living - best bang for the buck etc.-HAWAII=NO;GERMANY=NO
3 - Good schools (for our kids)-HAWAII=DONT KNOW;GERMANY=DONT KNOW
4 - Safe for Americans / foreigners etc.-HAWAII=YES;GERMANY=YES FOR AMERICANS/NO FOR PEOPLE FROM AFRICA O THE MIDDLEEAST
5 - English is prevalent thus making it easy to get around (if outside of the US)-HAWAII=YES;GERMANY=NO
6 - Low crime-HAWAII=YES;GERMANY=YES
7 - Hight speed internet available (this is a MUST)-HAWAII=YES;GERMANY=YES
8 - ....anything else you can think of.ALOHA-SPIRIT IS KEY FOR BEING HAPPY AND STAY HEALTHY
