Comparison of waves (moves) based on their price action or time action helps you in finding waves that are related to each other... Usually, a retrace move is of shorter time/price than the wave it is retracing, except for complex correction which can have higher complexity level than the wave it is retracing (if not, it means the actual move is maybe not a retrace)

Any reason why you don't use wave relationships - particularly in projections - to identify waves?

In general corrections can be shorter as you say (excepting complex) but here's an example of how they can last for ages in the Wave (II). You'll see that some currencies work well with fixed cycles - and USDJPY is one of them. It helped me pick the Wave (II) low last year. Note how brief Wave (B) of (III) was! I don't find that too uncommon to be honest and normally provide great common Wave (C) / (III) targets...

Hi Ian,
I've been breaking my head on the 1H GOLD Chart,
and came up with the following.
I'm amazed at how accurate the Spreadsheet Levels are!
I have removed the projections and retracements,
but will do them again to redefine a likely Top.
I'm finding a lot of patience is required to allow the pattern to unfold,
however, I am much more confident with my entries and exits when they do.
I find eyeballing the HEW Impulse Count,
and then my chart as it develops,
I can follow along and count the waves very closely,
and accurately [to the Spreadsheet targets].
So here, I clearly see 2 Impulsive waves up,
a wave iv correction down [alternation with wave ii],
and now the 3rd Impulsive wave up, wave v.

i removed the red line,it was a old zig zag indicator, the numbers of impulsive waves was good but de count is wrong because in the spreadsheet it give me error (triangle in upper corner) in wave iii. In your chart the spreadsheet said the same thing(sorry)
for me this correction is more deeper

Hi c,
I'm fairly attached to my count,
and will run with it for now.
I'm long and it is going up,
and I am expecting this to be a wave v to the top.
[5/3/5]
If it goes 5 waves [then correction a/b down],
I'll watch for a final 5 wave move up.
I have a TP zone 1323 / 28 so far.
After the correction, I can add another Fib projection for wave c.
This would give 3 targets to look for confluence.

Now, A famous rule & attitude for 'corrective 2 & 4

The great books mentions that if wave 2 is sharp then wave 4 will be side-ways & vice versa
Or, they also means that if wave 2 is more than 61.8% then wave 4 will less than 38.2% IN the retracement
Or, they also means that if wave 2 is zig-zag type then wave 4 will be triangle, flat (BUT IRREGUALR TOO?)

I want to ask simple thing, suppose some-where Wave 1 is finished and in present times it is wave 2 developing ( Suppose this wave 2 is going to be more than 61.8% retracement)

But this wave is having Irregular formation already, thus it means wave 2's C wave will be very sharp that it will cross 61.8% of wave 1.
So, what will be Wave 4 be like?

The implications of your chart is huge. This usdcad has bee sluggish in going up recently. Week before the last when it appeared like the usd was going to the moon cad futures did not fall as much
