Yep, the entry was not optimal, stop loss was just underneath the yellow line I drew there. In fact, another position I opened slightly lower (20 pips lower) got stopped out by a pip.

The entry was after price made a M30 bull engulf off the red demand zone you've marked. But you see to the left that price was a bit lower before so I gave the entry a bit breathing space. Until full target, 2:1 was achieved so all okay.

i closed it after 2:1 but would have produced a very big R:R trade

entry was after M15+M30 rejection off level

C-12, forgive me if you have already covered this, but could you please explain how you use the Chaos Semafor Indicator.

Also, I recently reviewed your account on the Gazette, where you tripled your account over a period. During that period you had approximately a 50/50 win loss ratio, however, on this site, in this thread at least, you appear to be doing much better. Can you please explain the difference, is it one of style, methodology, timeframe etc.

My win rate has always been pretty poor at around 50% since I'm mostly picking tops and bottoms without PA. The key to making it work is keeping the losses small (7 pips or less) and catching some decent runners (20 pips or more).

I don't often post the losses but I can assure you I do get them very regularly and a lot of BE stop outs. The charts I post don't show many of the very small exits as well since I'll often take a position or 2 off at around 10/12pips and leave the last to run.

The AG statement wasn't really a great example since I hammered that out in 2 days using heavy duty risk management.

As for the Chaos Semafor it's just useful to see when price is printing new highs or lows, purely informational and nothing to do with my decision making on entries.

Also, as of Wednesday I'll have full time hours to dedicate to trading since I've just quit my job and taken voluntary redundancy.

I'm going on holiday for a few days and then next week the real work starts on making a go of this. Will keep things posted.

Thanks, I had made the assumption that you were operating in that manner on the gazette, cutting losses quickly and letting profits run.

So regarding the chaos indicator, you only pay attention to the large Blobs, if that's what you call them , the major turning points:

DOWN/SHORT: Three circles: white blue and red center.
UP/LONG: Three circles: white blue and green center.

Or do you pay attention to all the 'dots'?

Trading demo or small live accounts for scraps is a different challenge to having to rely on making a consistent income to survive on. There's an additional pressure which can cause crazy things such as twitchy random entries or premature evacuation on exits.

There's also still painful memories of 6 months ago where I blew up an account in a day in a moment of NFP madness.

Will see how it goes but I'm aiming for 3-5% per day and risking 0.5% on each entry with 2% total account risk.

Ahhh ... I thought the Gazette account was a live one, but it was demo, this explains everything then.

I'm sure you are more than capable of pursuing this as a career option, and I will continue to follow you as you grow.
