Even i have come across this terminology number of times and i sometimes really wonder just like the gifted singers, poets, players and so on, there should be gifted traders as well. But anyways still we all can achieve good financial status by trading in the forex market.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I do give away a portion of money which i earn but that is not half the profits i make, its equivalent to 10% of my annual income which i donate to poor students, oldage homes and so on.

Half the profits - don't think you are going to find many takers for that..
But I do donate a small portion of my earnings to cry and other organizations..the amount I donate depends on my net for that month. And here's a reason why traders may want to donate a part of their winnings to charity, you can claim waivers but it also depends on the tax law of your country..

Gifted traders didn't know anything about forex trading when he/she was a child.
They learn it little by little and become gifted I think.
What I want to share here it's that there are natural talent.
We all learn from failure and get progress step by step.

No need to be a gifted to trader to success in forex trading.

If you have a solid trading plan along with a good system then you can be a good trader.

whilst we are name dropping there is a chap i have been following who seems to have encorporating a style of trading mainly the ftse on youtube. His videos are far from professional but ive learnt a lot watching them. he uses michael parsons techniques with i think tim morge plus of course fibs and support resistance levles. He is someone i would call gifted for sure. 'john ftseman'

we all have a talent for something special.

the knack is finding it and then finding a way to make it your living.

I have known some very gifted traders in my time, sadly I had to work at it.

There are gifted traders and those who assume they are gifted - the difference, the former use the term sparingly whereas the later, use it as often as they can in the belief that repetition will make it happen..

There are computer trading systems and there are humans. All super computers in the world linked together (as of last year, anyway) does not equal one human brain. It's an amazing computer, a non-linear adaptive filter. By our very nature, our brains are PERFECTLY DESIGNED for trading :-) I don't think there's any such thing as a "gifted" trader. A good trader is just someone who has been trading for a long, long, long time and they hyperfocus on a specific style of trading. They don't jump around from one thing to the next.

Well I do believe now after seeing a person who had less than one year experience and is damn good in trading. My guess is that he uses some supply and demand technique to predict the market's long moves.

Would you consider Michael Jordan a gifted basketball player? Would you consider Aretha Franklin a gifted singer? Would you consider Al Pacino a gifted actor? Every single gifted person had to work hard at his or her craft. Are there gifted traders? Of course, they can read charts to know support and resistance levels just at a glance, best time to make an order and at what price. How? Hard work, like any other gifted person. Some may have attributes that contribute to their gift. For instance someone might be born with an advantage of having height, intelligence, etc. Using these attributes to perform at its best abilities still takes hard work. Taking those qualities that you know you have and using it to perform at its best. That is being gifted.

Great examples but some persons are indeed gifted, they only need to polish their talent to become more great in their field, but others have to work very hard even to be called average performer.

I think success in forex trading requires aptitude, but I don't understand how anyone could be "gifted" at forex as the vast majority of traders have become successful with the proper knowledge and understanding of how the market works. Perhaps there are some for which this is not the case, but I would hesitate to call them gifted, maybe just lucky.

The newbies would have you believe you cannot make 1000% per year.

But the professionals know this is completely doable.

These FF demo account traders will tell you its not doable.

Although I think most of these traders who think large % gains are impossible, these are mostly young adults who have little experience in the world

They have no sense of the scale of money in this world... they don't believe anything is possible



Hell man, even 10,000% in a year. Completely doable.


It's purely psychological and nothing more.


I'd say if you can consistently do 200% a year, you are a gifted trader,
and you will have your own G4 in 10 years if you can repeat that performance

i bet about 1/1000 traders can do this. but who knows, could be 1/10000....
Be hopeful in a winning position, and fearful in a losing position.

Why do seemingly "gifted" traders implode after a long period of impressive run? The winning trades and consistent equity growth were results of good money discipline and experienced trading skills, yet the inevitable crash seemed to suggest that something else is affecting the trader. In below example, from Nov 2012 till Jun 2013 he did everything right. You can't tell that he is NOT gifted or inexperienced because July hasn't happened yet and his results were really good up to that point. And you can't say he didn't put in the hard work because this was a live account after he proof-tested his methods on demo for many years.

a gifted trader is one who can make 1-10% per month, month over month, for many years, keeping draw down less than 25% and recovering from the draw down in less than 3 months. That being said, I haven't seen much in the way of live, statistical proof of such traders.

Remember the first day in Art Class, when you knew that this wasn't your thing. Then you realize that its the same case for 98% of the students. Fast forward you are a pretty good ""gifted"" artist. Same thing in Forex...... you will screw up for some few days before it finally dawns to you that many good traders worked quite hard to finally get it. So are there any gifted traders? Hell NO!
Keep on working and after a few years you will finally get it!
