The EA is fine. It trigger opened order after i have tried it myself. It is simple code and simple system btw.

The problem is " if(Volume[0]>1) ".

Some brokers have no volume so you get no trades open.


With alpari it works but not every minute.
If the first tick has volume the EA will not open a position at this bar.

In Strategytester it works perfect because there you have Volume = 0 at the first tick.

For forwardtesting we can use the timestamp of the last opened order + timedifference (e.g. 60 sec) to open a new order.

Use time instead of ticks, that would do it

And why are you selling when price increases and buying when price decreases? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Your PDF shows trades "closed at stop" but without showing those as losses, instead showing them as profitable. Why is that? Do you mean "close at t/p"?

Because at the time the test ended (I assume the end of the day), these positions were in profit.

yes, crazy idea indeed, and haven't quite appreciated its logic yet

but Saleh, are you trading this using the EA you posted?

The EA is very simple:

if previous minute bar is up, buy;

or down, then sell;

the EA also does trailstop and breakeven (which i feel meaningless). that's it.

Hi Saleh33

So if I understand this right on a 1minute chart, if a candle closes green buy, if a candle closes red sell. For every minute in the day? Right??? Place a stop with every trade?? At end of day 2359hrs close out all trades still open.

Have I got that right???

Oh and by the way What size stop do you use??

By the way have you ever thought of doing it on a strong daily trending pair like the examples below and just bought if daily going up and only sell if daily going down??? For instance on GBPAUD of the last 39 days theres only been 11 red days and 28 green days.

I like the idea, we were doing something different forum podobnoe.Vy tried to use filters or Martingale system? Tried to do something like Albert Grienstein.
In a filter can be used. If you close a few TA buy or a sell in a row, so the market trend.

Just had another thought why not do this on hourly candles instead but again have a bias for the pair so for my examples above of strong trending daily pairs just buy after every candle???? See Hourly chart below of GBPAUD, looks interesting doesn't it???

Just a thought as cost of spread must be quite a big factor on 1 min candles but not so much on hrlys as only 24 trades per day.

I find this method fascinating and just thinking, what if you bought every say 15min or 5 min green candle and sold every red candle, no stops or take profits, as long as it moves one way or the other strongly you can't lose, then whenever you get 50 or so pips up close out all trades??

In fact thinking about it only trade the pairs with big daily ranges like say EURJPY, GBPJPY etc so that when you get a move (as you do most days on these pairs) then you will make loads of pips. On a good day when theres a strong move one way or the other you must win quite big???

Am I getting something wrong here?? Seems too simple to be true doesn't it???? Guess the spread would mess us up wouldn't it???? If thats the case then how about the 1 hour charts less trades so spread not so crucial and again if we only traded strong trending daily pair like examples in my post above above then when the daily trade direction kicks in you would end up with some big winners if my manual back testing is anything to go by.

Well I will be trying this out on demo next week and see what I end up with.

Could you run through the varibles quickly??

Also does it buy evry green candle and sell every red candle?? If so if I put it on a different timeframe eg hrly will it work on hrly candles or is it set for 1 minute candles only??

Actually you can, because you base your exposure on the number of up/down candles, disregarding the amount of pips the price has moved. For example, you may have a steady, slow move up, consisting mostly of bullish candles (causing your exposure to be heavily on the buy side), followed by a sharp move down, consisting of a few, larger bear candles, reaching the starting price of the move up. So, you would be back at square one, still having your exposure strongly on the buy side, with the average buy price well above the current price.

That makes perfect sense and of course pullbacks against the trend usually are smaller candles so would have quite an effect as you described.

Of course what that means to me is it would be better to have a bias for the day and either just buy or sell one or the other not both.

So if buying for the day a small pullback would be an opportunity to buy every red candle as positioning yourself for the move back up resulting in bigger wins assuming price eventually went back your way.

So thats it better to decide on a bias with strong daily trend direction and just take tradez in that direction so if buying wait for first green candle of the day then buy every candle after that. If your account goes 100 pips against you close out as not your day but if stays positive just keep going until hrly trend you sre trading ends.

Thanks sure there is something in this system just need a few rules to trade it profitably.
