Hello fellow algorithmic traders.

We are currently building a new application for algorithmic trading, called cAlgo. The API allows our users to develop automated trading algorithms in C#. The application is part of the cTrader family.

As you can see from the screenshots the interface is similar to cTrader. The ‘Robots’, ‘Custom indicators’ and their parameters are on the left side menu. You can trade, back test and optimize Robots or edit their source code.

We want to make sure that we are on the right track by developing an API which will satisfy modern developers and move automated trading one step forward. In order to achieve this, we need opinions of all you algorithmic traders that post on this forum.

Since we are a feedback driven Software Company we would like to know your opinions on:
a)What do you like / dislike about current APIs?
b)What do you think is missing in current popular trading APIs?
c)Which do you think are essential parts of a trading API even though it is not obvious?

Let’s have a nice discussion about trading APIs.

Thanks!

Hello,

We are coming to the point of release of cAlgo. The platform is going to have basic algoritmic trading features:

  1. Trading
  2. Optimizing
  3. Backtesting

The trading API is in C#.

We would like to ask for your help in testing our platform. All traders with any level of knowledge are more that welcome to try out cAlgo and send your feedback.

The main point of interest should be the usability and your experience using the platform.

Anyone willing to try our platform reply to the thread, PM me or send me an email ([email protected])

Best of luck to all of you trading

There is a variety of Brokers and Banks that currently support cTrader/cAlgo platforms. You can choose which one suits you best.
Unfortunately we cannot disclose the full list, however a simple search online will help you find a number of providers.

Any progress with these features?

I would love to have a tick chart to see the ECN environment.
Renko and Range bars are quite popular too. I hope these features are coming out soon.

demoing this now. how do you add more data for backtesting, I tried to backtest and could only go back about a year.

and is there anything planned to allow this to run mt4 EA's or a converter or bridge or something?

We understand the need for tick charts (renkos, range bars) and we have prioritized it so that it will be available very soon.

We have it in our plans for the near future to add more backtesting data, so stay tuned!
As for MT4 Expert Advisor conversions it is not possible to have an automated converter. The solution would be to develop an equivalent robot in cAlgo.

thank you for providing all the sample robots, I've converted strategies into calgo with little c# skills from using the sample robots. I'm very impressed with how much easier the coding structure is compared to mql.

Like Trailing, setting TP SL. Great Work!

How can we import our own Data for backtesting?

We are pleased that you like the API and the samples. Stay tuned for more great features. For the time being it is not possible to import you own data for backtesting. However, more data for backtesting will be added in cAlgo in the near future.

Any advances on the import of data for backtesting purposes? I'd like to be able to go back 10 years using my own M1 data, and to be able to create custom symbols using my own datasets. Are there any plans to allow this to happen? The lack of backtesting data makes it very difficult to trust robots developed in cAlgo - I certainly wouldn't trust real money to one without being able to test it over long time periods, no matter how attractive the rest of the platform appears (and it does look very nice indeed).

I realize that as Commercial Member, you can't reply to our various discussion threads about cTrader platform outside of Commercial Forum. I want to know if you can update us on the status of integration with popular MT4 performance analytic sites like Myfxbook or FXStat, or even ForexFactory's TradeExplorer. I understand a new thread would be appropriate for this topic.

Hi,
I wanted to know if anyone has found a manual of ctrader.API

The site at the following link:

http://ctdn.com/api/

is the whole list but for me it's uncomfortable.

I would like a single file that you can print and read.

Yes a PDF of the API would be nice. Also documentation of how to connect VS to Calgo would be very useful to make use of the c# libraries

I love cTrader. The tick or 2 tick chart is just fantastic. Yet, range bar charts would be a big bonus. Any progress/news on this?
Not financial advice. For testing purposes only. Do not use on live account
