Metatrader Formula language help

can someone help me out. i tried writing a formula for metatrader and that turned out to have a lot of problems. does anyone know how to write simple moving average crosses. like close cross above the 20ma or close below the 20ma. when i tried to do that i got like 7 errors. any help appreciated.

you use the built-in indicators for that. look for iMA().

and then compare the values and price.

you can post your code samples, i'll take a look.

or here is an example:
EMA1=iMA(NULL,0,3,0,MODE_EMA,PRICE_CLOSE,0);
EMA2=iMA(NULL,0,34,0,MODE_EMA,PRICE_CLOSE,0);
if (EMA1 > EMA2 {
bla bla
}

i currently have metastock and the language is as easy as it gets you literally write cross(close, mov(close, period, ema). i tried writing somthing similar to that in metatrader(if close > ima(20, mode_sma,0)) and got a bunch of errors. i dont need a bunch of logical explanations for my system just a couple of crosses.
