Is an indicator less accurate the further back in time you go?

I use MT4 provided by Alpari UK and it goes back upto Jan 2011. But as I go back, I really doubt if the indicators are not accurate. Are there any possibility for this?

If historical data is not correct, then indicator of course is not accurate. Not sure what are you trying to know.

Would this have been the exact chart even if you were watching the chart live on January 04, 2011 right? Or because years passed, there may be something not updating properly?

But be cautious if you go back more than 2008 I already saw some "holes" at least in EURUSD.

I got the data from nowhere. I just scrolled back in my MT4 and I went up until this date.

Am I doing something wrong? Just scrolling back to a date won't give the exact historical data? Will there be any malfunction??

No, you are not doing it wrong.

But if you don't trust your current data, there is one thing you can do to get fresh data:

1) Close Metatrader.
2) Go into the history folder and erase the hst files

This forces metatrader to reload the history with fresh data from your broker.

Historical data is subject to broker itself. Some broker provide you 3 month of data for demo account, and the rest of data before the 3 month would be provided by Meta trader company.

This is what I understand after find out from instaforex broker. I am not sure other broker would be the same case.

If there is a gap between historical price, especially weekend gap, if price suddenly shoot up or down on Monday opened, then obviously indicator is not accurate at this case.
