I'm slowly working my way through this mammoth thread (currently page 59). I keep seeing the abbreviation 'bro' from fti - what does it mean?

Tried a google and forum search but came up short.

if i'm not mistaken, 'bro' refers to brokers..

one of my brother in arms in markets found me on facebook.

I'm demo trading at the moment, trying to slowly work my way through this thread and cement to memory everything as I learn. So apologies if these questions have already been answered before along the way.

Choosing the right pair.

Trade one pair exclusively
Since I am new I was going to choose just one pair and trade that exclusively until I can learn its 'rhythm' and it's 'pulse' - then once in sync with that pair branch out to others.

I was interested in Leighs choice of EUR/JPY because she said that often it gives moves big enough to capitalise on while she is watching the market - she doesn't have to stay up crazy hours trying to rescue trades since the move is usually over while she is awake- and it's quite usually active during her time zone (usa?). I was hoping to find something like this for my timezone (australia) and learn it inside-and-out.


Look for strongest trending pair
BUT then I started looking at the daily charts of the majors I thought it might be best to go with whatever is trending strongest, therefore increasing probabilities of success.

For example looking at the daily charts right now (of all the majors) the USD/JPY is trending the strongest, so I would trade that. And if the situation changed and another pair started to have the clearest trend, I would switch to that.

What are your thoughts on this? Should I trade the strongest trending pair, or just choose something that suits my timezone and stick with that?

Worst case scenario

This is what scares me the most when it comes to using martingale to re-average losses. Lets say for example I see a strong trend up on the daily, so I buy when price action looks good on the 5 min. Unfortunately I have picked the top of a trend on the daily, and things start to turn around and go back down. Won't I get absolutely slaughtered as price goes against me (against both my scouts and rescue troops)?? Has anyone experienced this?

**As I was writing that question I think I understood the concept a little it better - here is my answer with another question (original question left up incase I'm wrong). Any reversal of trend would eventually stall and have a small retrace - which is what I use to get out flat. So therefore its quite hard to lose a huge chunk of your account?? Would love to hear from people who have whipped out their account - and what that think they did wrong.

the idea seems to be fine...try to see it real time how u feel about it...stay with majors...because crosses can kill you fast...eur/jpy is cross of usd/jpy and eur/usd.

it comes to MM and dancing...if you can dance properly or read the rhythm properly you can flip and still make money...
