How to pass the time while trading?

There is another thing that I do while waiting for my trade to reach profit target. I go onto the Sothby's website to look at million dollar mansions to remind myself that these will be the mansions that I can buy if I wait for the trade to reach my target and NOT exit early.

I train for triathlons-working up to ironman. Passes the time pretty well ID say! Very addicting..

Time is not a problem for me since I started trading on longer timeframes, so I don't have to "pass the time while trading." I do, though, often pass the time by trading. I can read in the financial press and look at charts while I am at work, so I am getting paid to trade. (No, I don't feel guilty - they're lucky to have me for what they're paying.)

By most of time I had the same problem.

Firstly: Specify in which trading you feel most comfortable (I assume that intraday) and how often, on average, you enter on market.
When often, 1 entry per hour or more, then just predetermine time for forex and be focused by whole time only on it. Read some news, listen radio ect. Do your job/passion good and after certain hour you are free.
Do not mix job with free time (playing in games and trading) because you will be feel that your working hours string out on whole day.

Secondly: Entry only 1-3 times per day or less. Usually 1H candles. Just set up alarms on your indicators, important levels or whatever what determines your entry/close to entry point. In this case main issue is time. Good signals appear, often, at random hours and it means that you have to be on "stand by" not only to specified hour.

Thirdly: Longterm. Entry signals time to time. Just find another job or do some another activity on half/full time. In this case, there in no point wasting time only for fun.
Recently I read about guy who was watchman and very good longterm trader in one skyscraper. By most time he cleaned or sat and spoke "good day" to very serious corpo-rats. No one suspected that he earns more than most of those every busy and always stressed people .

Gamble some trade if you don't mind to lose some money for just fun, it might become your additional income. Lol....

Lots of people - or simply gamers - like play during trading. In my opinion is bad habit. I will try enlarge my opinion on my one simple experience.

Even dozen or so months ago I liked play in game and wait for signal in same time. After some time I observed that I compensate my loses and failures on game. After bad transaction I had closed MT and had been playing longer as failure compensation. One SL hit was equivalent for two winning matches (I liked Football Manager) and wasted time. Of course in that time were lots of another good singals which I missed. So this sick wheel went on and on.
More complex games usually give extra, unwanted emotions.

Now I have one simple, very important rule: be focused on task. It's not an another computer game. This dooesn't mean that you have to be stressed by 8 hours. If you preffer sit 3 hours/2 hours break/3 hours break or one hour sitting one hour break or set up other disctretionary configurations but always clearly determine time for job and break.

I play WOW, Football Manager and various other games on Steam. I also watch a lot of youtube videos and play the xbox. My trading room is also my gaming room so I am never bored.

A buddy of mine plays video games while being in 250+ lot positions. Helps calm the nerves I guess.

And sometimes you can read about what "might"
be accomplished in trading.

Yes it is boring some times to see same charts and maket daily . I use to make trading interesting for me. I avoid trade in slow movement . I use to hear music . I use stop loss and take profit i need not to watch it all the time rest of the time I try to read about forex.

Depends. Basically I do not trade and do something in the meantime, but the opposite - I usually trade in the daily charts. So pretty much I work on my day business and sneak an eye to the trades on my mobile.
