I am going to run parallel tests on widening the boundaries and see what the results are. By no means do I think it will be the optimal solution, and "false" entries can occur with any automated EA triggered from indicators. I am lookng to see if it reduces this affect without causing negative effects to PnL via late entries.

Hello to all
I am a newcomer to FX. Been studying and practicing for 2-3 hours every day for 6 months (demo)
Last week I had 26 wins from 30 trades and made 478 pips, using a set of simple indicators and rules, trading the end of the
Asian session/start of the London session......the only time I can trade as I work full time (NZ)
Despite my success last week, I felt like something was wrong with what I was doing (once the high of a successful week in trading had gone)
This thread has confirmed my suspicions, and I realise now that I wasn't trading with an underlying 'concept'

The concept of trading breakouts and volume seems ultimately sound and logical.
I have inserted the indicators on page 1 and page 251. Looking forward to trading this method so generously provided by the authors.
I am in the process of reading my way through the thread........just thought a comment from a greenstick might be of some interest to other beginners reading the thread.

The EA is sending orders but nothing is happening?? Same thing as last time.... Anybody experiencing this effect?

I have the EA running different config on 4 demos and 1 live account (small size test). I have not experienced what you have described at all. Is this on live or demo accounts?

Thanks for the heads up.. I have changed this:

MagicNumber = Symbol()+Period()+13700;

That should divide the pairs..

You can use the same magic numbers across pairs. But you can not use the same magic number across multiple EAs or more than one instance of a specific pair.

So for example, you can use the same MN on 1 hr charts but to run the EA on the same pairs for 15 min charts ou would have to use a different MN.

That is why I asked for the MN to be an external parameter, I also use a trade copier that requires a MN to differentiate strategies.

EA (v1.4) testing:

Test duration: 1.1.2012 -> today
TF: H1 & M15
Parameters: OOTB
Win/Loss: better than 75% on both TF's

Profit: insignificant or small loss (0.92-1.07, very similiar on both TF's)

Observations:
1. Some trades have very strange StopLoss (like 3-4 pips) - see chart - left example
2. Some trades are wrong - see chart - right example.

Please try to obey the rules of consolidation.

[Side note: With this win rate - it would make a great scalper - but thats not our goal here...]

I have noticed and have yet to figure out the small stop loss. I know why the "wrong" second trade. There was an initial short trade, the one with the small stop loss. When the OBV indi later breaks the high of the Asian session range it takes the LONG trade. I agree it should not do this since there was no consolidation leading into that specific Long trade.

I know where the SL came from...
It's previous LOW/HIGH. It should be checked for "if Less than minimum" set something else.

Im experimenting w the Gadi indies and made some good trades yesterday w the Currencies indi........seems very powerful!
Unfortunately my mt4 froze last night so I cant post any info.......had to start over w a new mt4 account.

Hello GG53 as you can see i`m a newbee with some knowledge in indicators and ae`s.
i put all the indicators as required but the gad currencies is blank, even that i changed the relevent pair to true. what i did wrong?

The EA has no rules for consolidation yet. It only takes the breakout from the channel. I wanted everyone, using the EA, to verify that this is done correctly and, they where satisfied.. But know one (maybe a few) said anything.

As for the stop loss setting.. again, its work in progress.. It uses the the high/low of previous bar, added with the spread and stop loss in pips.

Check and see if your broker uses a suffix.. EURUDS.xxx.. Then add that to the Suffix parameter.
