DislikedDoes anybody else use the Oanda fxTrade platform? I opened an account with them recently because I wanted to spend a month reacquainting myself with the markets using a small amount of money, before funding my main account and (for the third time but this time for real!) going full-time. It has been very useful with regards to being able to trade a £50 account in the same manner I might trade a £50,000 account but it uses so much of my CPU time - 50-75%. I only have a dual-core 3.0 GHZ AMD Athlon but still, it's just a Java applet....Ignored
ukman, my friend.
i feeling a little uneasy.
4 years of this, and becomes like this?
i know there's lot of planning done. esp in living arrangements.
I like to encourage you but i must sound a word of caution for you think about.
mostly because i was not involved in your decision process,, just pulling your leg.
ok seriously ,
i thought about what you said.
you many have unsolved scorpions still strong.
if you can double your account quarterly, seems there may be element of over exposure sometimes.
doubling account every quarter had been my pinicle performance when i was bank active.
was my peaks. came sometimes with hair raising risk on caps. Was ok during times of very consistent performance.
my best was 400% performance annualise, in var terms was a little more than 40%, because most parts of cap i normally retained in money markets.
only mobilising 7 to 10 % of funds to FX risk in increments.
In fact i would had expected if you had consistency in performance , that a little training account would had grown to the size that you can live on over the 4 years and brought you to a point that you know that you have become very consistent in your endevour.
This would most certainly bring you to the point where you may need decide if you may have to devote all your time to it, and get married.
What i am a little unease about is that you going to change lots of your norm. I not know. But changes brings with it much new experiences, because the inner stability changes, the apiture to things change. but it depends on your abilities manage that change.
I not saying that change is bad, I saying that you need change in managable perspectives.
Mostly my fears is around if the change may become unmanageble.
You have a good head, so i would expect that you may had thought about this already.
Mostly i like transition from training mode into "for a living" mode be seamless, that makes better survival odds.
If you can make money and consistently grow, if you can make small account grow, surely as it grows, one day it will be big enough for you live off it.
I would just like to think that you started training in a very very tiny account , and now restarting training on a real account. Thinking that you moving to do this big time, that is a concern. I prefer think now you doing retrain afresh, in real mode, nevertheless will be retraining, abate a lot more wiser.
