it can be done and without leverage, a lot of luck will be involved to guarantee doing it. but the main obstacle is the time limit.Just trading spikes on news items like nfp will do it and you need about 15 trades, thats more than enough

That would be a crazy percentage growth.

Im happy with 5% monthly

I think aiming too high is the number 1 reason people fail.

i am looking at this in a light hearted way, their is no way i would attempt it BUT it can be done. i am not sure about slow and steady ,different people have different trading styles abit like sprinters and distance runners, each to their own

the word luck needs no explaination,a simple trading method is opening range breakout and the luck part is that the retrace wont stop you out IF it happens but it can be played. The other obstacle is that a lot of people trying to do this will not have the emotionasl skills to handle large sums of money

In demos, I've lost 100k a dozen times. In real life, I'm not that stupid (though a surprising number of people are.)

To turn $1 into a million, simply pick a nice, long uptrend, sell every minor top and buy every retrace. What could be easier?

Possible? Yes. Using any type of responsible money management and avoiding turning 'trading' into nothing more than gambling? I don't think so.

You say that as if picking a trend in the first place is an easy feat. "Trends" are subjective, fickle macro-constructs of price action, and as soon as you spot them can end up turning around. What a trend really is is a movement of price from one area of liquidity to another area of liquidity, but I don't think most people care enough to understand that.

I voted impossible in the poll, not because it is impossible, but it is the closest to Extremely Unlikely.
OP, you can display your trades using the Trade Explorer with a clean slate. You just have to change it to "Custom Start"
Simply select Options and click on "Custom start - starting"
That way you can attach your TE to this thread

Everyone knows an uptrend is where the price keeps going up. Simply buy before the price goes up and sell before the price goes down. While you're waiting, put in your order for another yacht.

Past performance is not indicative of future results. A trend looks great after the fact but knowing when the trend is "dead" is highly subjective and often you find out too late.
