Hello everyone,
...........
Here is a question concerning a GBPUSD trade I'm in. I saw this huge drop in price and what I would call levels on top of levels and price did not stay here for a long time. Yet, price cuts through it like butter and is about to wipe me out.

My questions to the more advanced S&D traders in here is: Was there something wrong with my evaluation? Something I did not take into account? Or was it just one of those levels that did not work out in spite of being an A+ area? Are there any characteristics of a level that let...

Hi HanSolo,
I think you've already got your answer. I'm a newbie and reading Sam's article now and watching videos...

Before commenting, I would like to say that, whatever I'm trying to say is for learning purpose only. As I'm learning, I might be wrong.

I think the price level you shorted had no strong support or demand. Price stayed there for shorter period earlier but that was drop-base-drop pattern. Sam told that it should be rally-base-drop pattern to get good result for a short entry from a pull back. Again before the drop from top price rallied through to that level. The top most level that you marked might be a support level. But bigger picture needed to confirm it.

Greetings All,

Just joined.3 month's quest to understand the Supply/Demand concept finally(hopefully) brought me here.Gone through many forums discussing the topic. But still get the feeling there is more to know.As far as logic is concerned this concept looks fine.Even took 4 trades with this strategy & got a 3:1 win ratio.

But here are a few things I cant understand: 1.The logic behind the 2 lines that makes the zone.2.The role swapping-demand>supply & vice versa.
Going through the discussions going on here, I am sure one of you can help me out.

cheers

because traders like to go back to the past and make it seem like everything makes a lot of sense so they adjust parameters to suit a good situation

Not sure if I understand what your saying but let me try to help.

The two lines on a zone show the two extremes of the imbalance. Say the lines are 10-20. Inside the 10-20 area are orders which out way the opposing sets of traders. So if the zone is supply, there are way too many people wanting to sell at those prices. There might be 70% of the sellers at price 12, but there are sellers camped at all the 10-20 area. So that once price reacts and moves away from this area a large number of outstanding orders, either limit orders or in the minds of the trades remains are those price levels. Not only that, but the sellers which got into the trades are now making a profit, so if they successfully exit their trades at profit will remember that success, which means they are more likely to be sellers again at that price level.
