The thing is..... Way better to know that your broker is the one that does not let you make millions that you would have made otherwise, then to admit that you can't make a f**** dime without years of studying.
If you really need years of studies to be successful, it means that during these years you dont loose only money, but also time, which is always money

Would be funny to make a calculation and see how many of FF traders made more money by trading or would have made more money by spending their time and money in other way.


I started an account with 2000$. in 3 months my account is more then 4000$...it means I eaerned the big amount of 730$ a months...!, and behind this, a lot of study, risk, fear.
And I consider myself lucky for my results.
I guess mostly loose at the beginning.
So, let see if the next months forex salary will be 1500$ and after 3 other months 3000$ etc..
In that case I see a sense, but if you really think it takes ages to start a profit..well then better go to wash dishes in a restaurant

Agree.

I look at it this way.

If I can make pips consistently I'll be happy.

...then it's just a matter of slowly building and increasing lot sizes as I get confident (and as my account size allows it to do so at a particular percent risk.)

The "salary" will increase eventually. ...my goal.

So far I'm happy.

Im still in a forex 'probabaton period', in which Im evaluating the sense of doing it , considering all the costs of this.
Now I like, maybe also for other reasons, like sharing ideas on FF , in the future will see.

But probably you are right, only people who make lots of money in forex world since the beginning are those who provide all these services around forex (brokers, trainings, signals sellers etc..)
Ok for all you conspircy nuts who still think that your broker gives a (explitive deleted and replaced by a bucket of dog poo) about your lousy ten grand or ten bucks or whatever. go to this thread: http://www.forexfactory.com/forexfor...ead.php?t=5723 and watch the vid, the whole thing.

Pay attention to the intros and who theese folks are. Then get an idea of who they are talking to. They talk like a hundred grand is chicken feed. (6bucks a 25lb bag at your local Rio Linda feed store)

Then download the PDF file. You may not grok the whole bit about programming an expert system, but there are some jucy bits in there about how a broker works and thinks. (I just love wirting the work broker, just for the highlight). Also note that he goes on about how hard it is to write a system for the broker to predict OUR behavior.

The important thing to take away from all this is that a lot of folks that are a lot smarter than you and me are having a tough time predicting what we are up to and they can WATCH EVERY MOVE WE MAKE. They don't have to snoop the forums to see how we do what do what we do, and frankly scarlet, they dont give a danm. They have bigger fish to fry, like how to cover that $4 mil order that came in a minute ago and has to be filled in a few more minutes or he is going to have a very bad day.

Just keep in mind that no matter how much our mommies try to bolster our fragile self estem. "We are all just fleas on the back of this monster that we call Forex"

Thanks for post . The more I wish that this 5% becomes at least a 50%.

Im for sure not a good trader like you more experienced traders are, so I know until now I had only good luck, and maybe a good working system for the moment.

Maybe not for everybody works, but facing your 'enemy', which I try to dont consider myself and not also the broker necessarly, because there are also honest brokers, helps me to make better strategies. At least I must know with whom Im playing the game
It doenst work if I must think I must play with myself. This ofcourse doesn't mean that I must not learn from my mistakes.
I think that there are many other things in life for which you are forced to face yourself but forex in not one of them for me.

I wish you also good trade and luck, which for we all need to win the game

If you want the latest ways of how people are going to trade or beat the system. You have a contest and offer 25,000 first place prize. People will enter their EAs they have designed and companies can get a first class look to see how it works and if it is worth taking notice of. They don't need to come to forums; people will come to them.

The truth is the market moves in every conceivable way possible and there is no one way that trades to beat the market. That is why there are thousands of indicators, EAs, scripts etc. none of them work 100% of the time or even close to it. When you get a winning trade you ride it and take your profit. When you get into a losing trade you cut your losses and try again. Money management or better yet, managing your losses is the key to successful forex trading. There are tons of material on trade formulas but very little on loss management.

I went back and honestly looked at one year of trading. I had 32 trades that stopped me from making some decent money that year or 3 a month. If I exit my losing trades earlier, put a profit stop on winning trades to ensure they never turn into losers, I can make money at this business. That is the best advice I know how to give. Paranoia will get you nowhere so run from that crowd. If companies really want the latest on new trading methods, they only need to run a contest, people will chase the money and let them know what works best. Just my paranoid opinion.
95% of trader's loose, so they don't need a forum where a bunch of newbie's hang out at.

I always questioned what they did to your EA while they had it. I believe that the metaquotes contest made you submit your EA before the contest so they could be sure it would work on the servers, and play well with others. but I guess they just wanted to disect and analyze it. A few of those EAs ran strong, but I think the risk levels might have been too high for 'real life'. After all it was the prize they were after, and if they blew the contest account, it was just play money anyway. IBFX is running a 'mini' contest on their live accounts, but it is open to all trading, not just EAs, and after 1 day the leader board has a contestant with over 500% gain. in ONE DAY! It is obvious they are out for the prize only. Top prize is $3,000US for only a $250 minimum to play. So to my point... I am not sure a 'contest' EA would be a good 'real life' EA anyway. Would I allow my money making EA into a contest where someone else sees the source code, NO. But at that point, if my EA is consistent, I don't need any prize money, I already have the prize.

ps In IBXF's mini contest there are traders with -99% gain in one day as well.
If he made 500% he probably caught the Eur/usd breakout Tuesday and rode it all the way. That was a nice trade if you got it. I have seen guys up 1000% in that contest and disappear 3 days later. Too bad they dont just stop trading and take their winnings. I know a way to trade that wins over 90% of the time but seldom makes money. You just trade both ways and collect the profits but the other side just accumulates losses. You only close your losses one time but you pile up tons of winners. If your winners out gain your accumulated loser you make money, if not you lose money but you can win over 90% of the time.

Anyway an earlier post is right, they dont care what you are doing if you are small potatoes. I think some companies have a stop loss or margin loss chaser in their programming but other than that, I have found they hold close to the live trading charts. Most traders are short term traders and there is no fundamental or technical that will show which way a currency is going over a short period of time. At any time a company, bank, government or individual can make a large currency exchange and they have nothing to with any Fib, Pivot, trendline, trend, stochastic, wave, interest rate, Fed announcement, news, etc. The market can be unpredictable at any moment of anytime. If I go to the bank and exchange a Euro for a dollar, I will cause a tick to happen in the market, insignificant but there anyway. If a bank decides to do all their exchanges at one time and another decides to do it every 3 hours they affect the market. Paranoid people need to get a life. You cant trade .0001 of a penny (a pip) and expect it to follow some regimen you thought up.
