Are you able to create VT email alert when 2 EMA cross over ?

I have tried email alert on MT4 but it is not consistent in sending out alert. Any charting software that send email alert for 2 EMA crossover timely..?
The future depends on what we do in the present.

You're were right ! I deleted all my systems [just to verify I wasn't going crazy ] and re-downloaded v2.0 and I have it now. Something must have gotten overwritten or something...not sure. thanks.

I was thinking today about which pairs to practice on and wondered if you are going to change your pip figures for those pairs where a pip equals less than a dollar. For instance the stop loss pips for USD/JPY might be 24 [($63/$.88 per pip)/3) instead of 21 which still leads to a net loss of right around $63 if it bombs. Then of course you would do the same thing for the 55pip and 89 pip take profit levels I assume. Just curious if you'd do that or stick to your numbers as they are.

Unfortunately I won't be able to test though until I return from the World Cup....yippie . But I look forward to seeing great results when I return in 11 days. Have fun guys !

Well, I think about everything in pips.. It just makes life easier. The reason is, you don't know if a pip is worth $1 or $10 or $9.63. And frankly, I don't care..

"Pip Hording" is the name of the game ;-)

If you hord enough, who cares about all the trivial details!!

Yes, I can see your point for keeping it pip for pip. I may try to round it though for my test and see what happens. I haven't decided yet. I need to sleep on it.
The reason to keep a pip a pip, is so you can scale easily.

If you say "I want to make 100 pips today". Then you take the Lot size and the currency pair out of the equation.

If you said "I want to make $1000 today" That'd be what.. I don't know, 119 pips if you traded USD/JPY or something like that? Why make it hard on yourself?

The other thing is consistency..

If I know I can pull in 100 pips a month, then it doesn't matter if I'm trading 1 lot or 10 lots. I know what my income is in terms of pips..

Can you tell me please what a triangle moving average is? In Metatrader I only find simple, exponemtial, smoothed, and linear weighted. Thanks so much!! I am new to trading and am trying out methods to see what works for me. I appreciate all of the info I read on this site!

Here is WMA Cross Deluxe 2 set to 30 min charts with a trailing stop based on MA, a counter to enter a trade and then start the TS, and a timer that will enter trades in the hours selected. Be aware that VT trades are at close of a bar, and stops are executed then. Results would often be double if stops were intrabar. It may take a stop 30min to kick in. Trading today was very choppy, and the only way to trade sucessfully was with 5 min charts.

I dont understand how anyone could trade with the 4 hour time frame. How do you place a trade, how far away is the stop loss, what to do during news release like NFP where even 5min seems too long.

You said earlier about not having time to be infront of the screen all the time, so I hope you could tell me more.
4Hours puts you into the realm of "long term investing" (well, in forex sense anyways). So you do it like investments.

I trail the stop @ -21 pips.. So not bad at all...

You would enter a trade on the signal, and just sit back and relax.

Slight change to Rich's WMA attached. I added just the multiplier I use, so that way, his profits line always shows up correctly (in terms of pips) regardless if you are trading pairs which are 1.xxxx or 100.xx.

I'm one of those evolutionary snails, I like to tweak a little bit at a time.

OCCv3.0.

I've implimented on the price chart, the trailing stop correctly. A bunch of other bug fixes. I've moved the default trailing absolute stop to just -13 pips.

I have myself saying "UpTrend" or "DownTrend" on the alerts, but the software doesn't allow me to export that portion, and absolute paths related, and so I guess if you use my system, then you will have to record yourself saying "Uptrend" or "Downtrend".

The dotted pink line is now correct trailing stop vs 2.0 which is slightly less correct.

When a stop is hit, the stop is reset, so if you wanted to enter the market again, you would know where to put the trailing stop (again).

I speak for all when I say I am grateful for your work on this. I found this thread when I was researching where I could find the 34 ema "wave" set at open, close, and high after reading raghee horners book. I am pretty new to this although I am a quick study. From what I gather, everything that you and rich have developed to this point is not MT4 ready, correct? I would love to try your system on the MT4 platform, which is what you are working on right now if I am not mistaken. Anyway, thanks for the effort you have put into it to this point. I am floored by the detail and thought you put into it.
i know this is a stupid question but for a VT newbie can someone tell me how to import the OCCv3 and get it working? when I've tried it says I can only import vtscr files.

As far as importing the OCCv30 into VT.

I don't know if I can actually pull it off tomorrow, but starting tomorrow, I will try to trade 19 pairs based on nothing but the signals generated from OCCv3. I doubt I'll be able to keep it up for more than a few days, but we'll see!

I see another 5~6 refinements before I'm comfortable with it.

I took a look at 5EMA_Close xover 8EMA_Open, which I thought had a lot of potential, and I studied it for quite a while. But at the end, for the timeframe and style I trade, the OCC really just works well for the 4H timeframe IMHO. I hope to polish up the software on the VT side, and probably tomorrow, I'll post the MT4 version so everybody else can try it as well.
