I don't know why I'm starting this thread because I'm not profitable yet.. but hopefully I can see the light soon.. I have been trading for 5 years plus, and somehow I'm still not profitable smh... But I know deep down inside that this is what I want to do.. I hate working a 9-5 and being a slave.. I want to turn my $800 to $2000.. I don't have a time goal but that's what I want to do first, and then I will work my way up taking the $2000 to $5000 etc.. My new strategy will be to trade with the trend and range markets using pin bars, engulfs, and breakouts as my signals.. Ok so that's it for now, I will be posting tomorrow with some results..

So sad today.. I lost my head to the chop today.. Lost $120.. Hopefully tommorrow will be better.

this market is about one thing and one thing entry point choose your entry point in trade very well and then let your profit run and don't worry about it have a nice day

Decent day today.. Took 3 trades 2 winners 1 loser.. We had a decent spike in the mornig so i jumped right in for the ride

Yea I done figure that out already but easy said than done.. Some days or trades you can't let your profits run.. If it was that easy we would be all rich .. But yea i totally agree with you..

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you'll probably turn $800 to $0 before you get it to $2000. We all want to escape the wage slave life but unless you have a strategy that you know for a fact works you shouldn't be throwing your hard earned wages at the markets for those in the know to gobble up. Open up a demo and do that instead until you are confident in yourself.

Obviously you don't have to listen to me or anybody else but I just want to save you some of the financial pain and mental punishment. I've been at this for years now and I know others who have as well and we still aren't profitable, although we've learned a lot along the way.

When I tried to think so too, but it's really naive. To trade profitably have been years. You several times before you understand loser and start trading right ... That's what I wanted to say. But not as strange - to trade is easy, important to understand how.

I will not persist without seeing a reason for doing it. If you are never going to "make money" you are wasting your time. Find a system to help with safer entries and how to exit. Give yourself up to learning it and then apply your own knowledge as you see fit. Crawl first then go exponentialing...

It sounds like you are not profitable and you want to bring your bad experiences on me.. Anything is possible.. I'm not saying I'm going to hit my 2k mark, but thats what I'm aiming for.. Is something wrong with that? It's only $800.. Its not like i spent my whole life saiving $800..

You don't feel like you are risking too much?? Losing 15% in a single day?

I believe money management is just as important or more important than whatever your trading strategy is.

No, I'm not profitable and I have no shame in saying that. I'm not wanting to bring my "bad experiences" on you - I'm only warning you what is likely. Have you tested your strategy for any amount of time in a practice account or are you dead set on flushing your money down the toilet? It may be "only" $800 but for many people that's enough money to buy a month's worth of groceries.

Pretty decent day today, 1 breakeven and 2 winners.. I went over my trades for the week and I found out that I made a couple mistakes on monday that had cost me.. I guess I just have to learn from it and move on. Thank goodness it's Friday ..
