Sorry about this. The update to the Ninja Trader price servers that was planned for this past weekend has been postponed. Apparently the software developers wanted to hold off until some other changes could be added. I will let you know when the Ninja Trader update goes through. In the meantime, did you try the temporary fix I suggested earlier? You should be able to load the Ninja Trader charts faster by limiting the bars to 500.

Mostly likely what you're seeing here is as Kanzler describes. In the early hours of trading on Sunday evening, liquidity is still relatively low. That is also the case towards the end of trading on Friday. In regards to our dealing desk spreads, they will always be exactly 1 pip lower than our No Dealing Desk spreads for the most popular currency pairs at any given moment in time.

That's because we use the NDD price feed as a base to derive prices and execute orders and simply reduce our markup by 1 pip. That means if the spreads widen to 14 pips on NDD, they will widen to 13 pips on DD at the exact same time. Let me know if you have any further questions on this.

For me that won't work... I trade 1 pip range bars.. that would only be a couple of minutes.

btw the data issue on ST seems to have gone away. So I am good for the time being.

Thanks Jason, but just to say it wasn't the close of the market when this occurred but one hour after London opened when news drove price down.

Any idea what would cause the error "Operation impossible. Position already closed on MT4 side."? This occurs when I try to remove a limit order through Trade Station II over an MT4 demo account. From what I can tell there's no way to remove the order, but I'm not sure if it actually exists anymore or not.
Why have the spreads on Yen pairs been higher than before during recent majors news releases? Spreads at my GFT and Armada Markets account have been as normal. Is this just temporary or is it a reflection of current instability in the financial markets? I guess nobody is willing to absorb any risk anymore. Thanx.

I was hoping someone would give me advise as to which broker i should use.
I am living in the EU.
Part of my Plan for trading will involve trading from my mobile Phone during work days?
So i Was also hoping someone would give me advise as to which phone in the market is best
suited for Trading Forex.
Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

Hi TuttiDFrutti,

You've hit the nail on the head in mentioning risk. Yen pairs have been particularly volatile of late. That means more risk for banks in quoting prices. A wider spread is their way of compensating for that greater risk. On our No Dealing Desk forex execution, we simply pass on the best prices we receive from our liquidity providers and add a fixed pip markup for our own profit. That means when our liquidity providers widen their spreads, you will see our spreads widen likewise. That could be why you have noticed wider spreads for JPY pairs during recent major news releases.

A broker that does not widen their spreads when liquidity providers widen theirs has to take the market risk on themselves. This can lead to potential conflicts of interest where the broker has to decide between either taking a loss themselves or requoting their clients. FXCM avoids this conflict by using our NDD price feed and immediately offsetting our client orders based on the best prices we can get from liquidity providers.

Welcome to the FXCM Discussion thread While I can't recommend a specific phone to you, any Android or iPhone will allow you to use our Trading Station Mobile platform.

Also, I noticed from your forum profile that you live in Ireland. Were you aware that Irish residents can open a spread betting account and trade tax free? Your capital is at risk when trading forex and CFDs.

There are no requotes on our platform. If you know of someone who believes they experienced delays or other tech issues on a trade, I encourage them to log a case with the Trade Audit Committee for review. If there was an error on our part, we will make the appropriate correction to their account.
Hey Jason, yes I had a hard time getting out of my trades last night around 3am (EST) it said there was a error. So I rebooted and when I logged back in I had some partial exits. Never had this happen. Also I am trying out a level2 real account and I had a 10 pip slippage, which sucked. I thought level 2 would be better then my LAMM account but being web based, I just hate it and then the slippage. I am in the process of transferring that account over into my LAMM account.

Thanks for providing these additional details. I encourage you to log a case with the Trade Audit Committee, so they can investigate what happened. And please shoot me a private message after you've logged the case, so I can follow up as well. In regards to the level 2 platform, it uses Adobe Flash to run through your web browser. If you find that our Trading Station Desktop platform has faster performance on your computer, then I would stick to that.

Regarding the slippage you encountered, are you familiar with how to use our Trading Station's Market Range feature to minimize negative slippage, while still receiving the benefits of positive slippage?

When trading with market orders, FXCM recommends setting the order type to "market range" on our Trading Station platform to avoid potentially receiving negative slippage. A market range order type allows you to control the amount of slippage your order can receive when it executes allowing for price certainty (see image below).

A market range of "X" pips assures that all or part of your order will be filled within a "X" pip range of the current market price ("X" pips above or "X" pips below) if liquidity is available.

Hi,
I have a demo MT4 account with FXCM but when I generate a report it is in GBP and I need it in USD.
The server is FXCM-GBPDemo01. If I try to login in with the USDDemo01 it just peeps, disconnects.
What am I doing wrong?

I want to open a micro account and deposit money via debit card. Can I withdraw my deposit via debit card , or do I need to use bank account ?
