What is the code for indicator refresh?

I have an indicator which when placed on a chart calculates and draws the daily pivot and S/R points. I use these on a VPS to send me email alerts, however These need to be calculated each day (after midnight)

At present they recalculate if i select a different time and then re select 1H.

Is there a snippit of code I could add to make the indicator recalculate the values every x hours ?

This will control how often to do the refresh. Its not guaranteed to work, since I modified some existing code. But its close.

Make the refresh rate an input parameter.

I have tried the code you supplied and have not been able to get it to work, the attached indicators when dropped onto a chart (1 Hour) do not automatically paint. I have to change time frame then change back again for them to do so.

The issue I have is that I run it on a VPS and the values will need recalculating after midnight so I need the indicators to refresh at either a specific time ie midnight or at specific periods ie x hours otherwise I have to log onto the VPS each morning after midnight to get them to update.

I am only just starting to understand the basics with MT4 language so its just out of my grasp to try and solve this without assistance.

I thought a generic approach would work, it usually does for me. Pivot indicators are outside of my experience and I am not looking to add it to my repetoire. Someone else will have to take this one.

The main problem are the indicators you attached.
Both are decompiled files = stolen / cracked source code.

Nobody here is allowed or willing to support crackers and thieves, therefore
nobody should modify your indicators.
Lately its seems to be happening more and more. I seldom download code any more. If it isn't stolen, its an mess of spaghetti code.

No big thing to calculate the pivot point(s).
However, this code does not paint anything, but I assume that's not necessary. It only sets global vars that can be accessed from other code:

I paid to have the indicators wrote but the author subsequently vanished and left me with something not up to what I had paid for, I subsequently had to then pay again to have them decompiled so that I can get them corrected.

They are not stolen or copyright as its my work, I hired the coder to write them and have the receipts, the intellectual copyright under contract is owned by me.

if you paid for the code then you would have... the original code.

they look like small junk scripts, and you say they don't work properly anyway. just have someone start over for you. i'm sure someone has nothing better to do.

but the people who are best positioned to help you won't waste their time on decompiled code, no matter what the story is.

Read a decompiled code is a pain. I always restart from scratch with the right rules.

hey console..... just how are those indicators suppose to be sending alerts.....

it only took a second to know who the original coder was..... if you paid someone who claimed to code this, all he did was rip off a freely available indicator , slightly edit it and charge you ..... in all likelyhood you were not given the mq4 to hide this fact..... this is a common practice of some coders for hire..... the truely funny part is he screwed up his edit...... static datetime not int....

basic pivots should be only a couple lines of code and alerts only a couple more....... as ferrufx mentioned, you really need to start from scratch.....

i might add, try to deal with trustworthly coders...... the list of people i have vouched for contains many of the best..... some charge and some do not...... i believe they are all highly respectable..... h

Thanks for the info, I have a separate alert indicator which I used a company called code forex to produce (they are not responsible for the two indi posted), that reads in the pivot values and alerts me.

The only issue I am having is the midnight and new calculation of the pivots which is down to the two indicators posted.

Do you know what the original freely available indicator is that has been sold to me ?

I am trying to get to grips with reading code but as everyone has stated reading a decompiled code is pretty tough.

below is one of shimodax's pivot indicators ...... he has about 4 known to me..... just look around for TZ-Pivot ....

it would be best to both the pivots and alert in a single indicator..... it does not have to plot the lines......h

Its exactly the same indicator so looks like ive been well and truly had :/ , never mind we live and learn.

I will try and run that over night, looking at he code it calculates the day start and end from the time and bars, the code I was running did not calculate again when the day changed, hopefully it was because it was a bodge job and this one works. At least I can have a go at understanding this one a littl better.

hey console..... usually decompiling harms people like ferrufx, cja, traderseven and dozens more like them..... in your case here decompiling exposed a fraud....

there is 1 coder for hire on ff, with multiple usernames, that is notorious for doing just that..... h
