Can't get funds from my broker

The Commonwealth is not the UK. Australia is part of the Commonwealth - is it part of the UK? No. The UK consists solely of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

I wrote an attorney at law, I came across her FB account, so she really seems to exist, also having pictures of her , showing the island in the background. That doesn't mean Octa's headquaters really exist. Attorney on the island seem to be involved too.lol

Is the adress known by yourself ? Forgive my curiosity, but proving my Identity for a company by sending hard copies to a country far away from Austria had never come upon me until know.

it seems like your account began having issues when you wanted to withdraw your profits, but then again the issues went away when you started getting losses in your account. by the looks of it, you should've tried to waited it out rather than continue trading and losing. the policy they implemented looks like is designed to stop money laundering, but in your case if you are laundering money, then that is your own problem, but if you are not, then octafx really needs a better detection method.

well, that's the point.

I waited several weeks WITHOUT trading and even when they said that withdrawals could be made by then it STILl said account was under investigation. That anti- money laundering is pure prevention for getting your gains out.

I don't know why people go with these little monkey-outfit brokers, I've just had a look at the octafx website and they offer a 30% bonus, nothing is free, thats probably how they lure in people then take the piss when you want to withdraw money.

Fun fact: Canada's head of state is the Queen of England as well. Only we officially refer to her as the Queen of Canada along with her Canadian Royal Family.

We're not the UK. We're an entirely independent, commonwealth nation, operating under a constitutional monarchy government.

Our own financial regulators are rather strict when compared to the UK. But they too are independent and the UK has zero say Canadian regulations. And on the flip side, another commonwealth country could be near lawless and yet still connected to the UK by history and tradition.

just wondering why you decided to go with octafx? they have always been the much smaller player in this market and are average in my opinion if you compare them to some of the bigger brokers...anything in particular? other than the $8 bonus thing mentioned.

heard of the fast execution and very tight spreads they offered from a friend.
only problem was he just opened up an account to receive the 8 $ welcome bonus.

well kown and "bigger" broker doesn't have to be good. take fxpro for example or avafx, etc.
there are enough brokers that just startup and are very good because they DO have to fullfill their customers needs to grow and be successfull
take RVD markets for example

Anyway this seems to me like some setup sort of thing if someone who claims to be the CEO himself answers your calls hungover and it appears to be a one man office !lol

you are correct bigger brokers sometimes aren't good, too many requotes, negative slippages, etc. but at least they process your withdrawal. It is useless if we get good execution and tight spreads if in the end we don't get paid once we are profitable...

I would stay away from brokers that have too tight spreads. Most of the times they are fishy

I wrote the octafx.com server provider an email today, citing this thread and explaining the potential ongoing abuses.

Servers are located in Norway, that's at least closer than St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

This is what I got from the support, and it quite seemed to me a little suspicious, meaning that the person behind the server company
to me seems a little too pro-octafx.

I answered that he didn't understand that people didn't get their funds back DESPITE their accounts were officially verified by the company, no matter how long they waited. Also, for just a provider he seems to be a little bit too much interested into forextrading, and NO other broker so far demanded for ANY hard copies. Googled his name and came across a poker-profile...

On personal note - please take advise and do not make any activities in case of investigations, it always ends up bad if you push your luck in unstable situation. Better wait and don't lose, I've been there before and OctaFX is not the only company out there (legitimate) who has the same procedures regarding security. They are protecting YOUR money, but they cannot protect anything if you on your own decide to trade and lose in process. 2.: your membership started just in march and your contributes in form of posts just contain Bullsh***, containing no fundamental information at all, so you were able to read what was going on in the thread
3.: your post is offensive against the thread author, you are trying to escalate the situatuion to the lowest intensity level, but somehow you had to cite how genius you actually are and therefore you just wrote what you WOULD do, well if that's not an admission of guilt.

In your case, I'd better get my ass out and try to give people back their money a.s.a.p. to minimize damage
