I went in early thinking of CT after that H1 DBLHC candle and lost 40pips. LOL.

GU 21 Feb Example of CounterTrend Trade setup using higher TF H4 and H1 candlestick pattern for higher probability trade.

H4 - Pin Bar at RN and failure to close below Prev D Fib-r 127%
H1 - Inside Bar breakout above Prev D Low

This is an example to show how you can follow the PA on M15 chart TF and look out for the H1 and H4 CS pattern.

Hello Guys!!

Thank you Emmanuel...today i've took a trade as per you teach us.

EURAUD
Previous daily is a pin bar.
4H show a inside bar, the next candle close below inside bar and the mother bar.
LO open, a pullback to 1.2950 and it was 50% of the breakout candle, + EMA50 and 200 on 15TF.
I could open (more risky) the trade direct on the 1.2950, but i prefered wait and when i see the bearish engulfing on 15 TF i opened a sell.
I could managed my trade better because i close at RN 1.29. but i think was good a profit of 30 pips with a SL of 20 pips.

I would like to know if there is something wrong in my trade.

Have a good NY session.

you right there was a h4 doji ! but when i took the trade there was enough room (more than 30 pips) to me to take the trade.

look the reasons for me to take it :
the price failed to cross the RN (4 or 5 attemps)
the price failed to cross the h1 10 ema and bounce on it (picture below)
the H1 and H4 was strongly bearish

to be honest at first I intend to take a small trade (about 20 pips) but I saw that the price crossed easily the low of h4 candle (doji) and the h1 resistance so I let it run...

Hi Artic,

Very good trade done. You got the thinking process correct. Well done.

That D and H4 setup is a very high probability trade setup condition, when market consolidates at Prev W fib-r 50%. Tis type of setup is common when you look at more currency pairs. You will find at least 2 of such setup per month. These are AAA+ setups, so we must plan ahead to let profit run with exit management, scaling in (add-in postions) with profits. Such trades will pay your monthly salary as a trader.

30pips TP and 20pips SL means that is a 1.5R trade.
This is a good R trade and must be the case for every trade taken.
We must try achieve trade results above the initial SL 'R' and target a high average R of above 2R.
You have to work on your trade exit management technique to get more pips and higher R results. This will ensure long term profitability for this trading business.

Also, I like your clean charts. Keep them this way, you see more with uncluttered charts and your mind will be clearer to make decisions.

Hi Boris,

You doen well. Pretty sharp trading.

I use your chart to explain my failed trade yesterday using that DBLHC H1 candle pattern.
First trade failed, second want recovered part of earlier loss.

This morning 22 Feb, there is a double IB H4 breakout setup. That is Plan A.

EJ 22 Feb update GMT0400:

If you are not in this breakout move, you may be late. The last H4 close bullish pin-bar supported by Prev W Low.
There was a Trendline breakout then a re-test and price bounce off.

Wait for NYO and look for a retracement to the next support.

Someone with sharp eyes PM me and asked what are the red and blue lines on my EJ chart posted.
Well, here is my answer to share with all here.
That is the Chandelier Exit which I posted sometime ago.
I set that to 4 times the ATR(10) on M15 chart... which is approximately 2 x ATR(10) H1 which I use as volatility stop trailing.
