Recommendations on forex mentors and courses?

I know that there are bunch of forex gurus and mentors out there earning money by mentoring but failed in trading forex themselves. However I would like to go with a forex course by a good mentor to study basically advanced price action trading. Even though there are so many free stuffs available on the internet regarding PA trading, I don't have much time to spend on those. So here I am looking for replies from the traders who have followed good price action trading courses with good mentors. Expecting serious replies. Thanks in advance.

You are asking to be spoon-fed...which tells me you're either unable or unwilling to put in the work to get good at this. NOTHING will make up for doing your own analysis, and everything telling you how it's done is freely available on the net. Develop your system (by reading about others) and then back test it for at least 2k candles per pair, and then forward test it on a demo account for a couple of weeks. Once you have a good track record, go live...

As you correctly say: Why would a profitable trader teach? I can't think of a single reason other than him really loving teaching...and there aren't many people around who think like that.

Going to second the last post, the problem lies in the qualitative description. For example, what is a good course? And the answer, obviously would be one where you can learn how to win. The problem, nearly every trader may have his or her preference towards one or multiple courses so you are not going to get a simple answer or a hand holding session.
Frankly, teaching sucks and anyone who hosts a real course and not a make believe session on how to gain confidence to trade better will charge big $$$$$ for the pain and effort of teaching newbies.
But most, if not all, the info is already available for free online. Google some of the top free online resources and get started. DO NOT SPEND any money for a course at this point, maybe later on from any profits you may make..just a suggestion.

You need to learn it on your own. Try several strategies, test them on a demo account and choose which one suited to you. It requires time and patience but since you dont want to spend time trying, i suggest you better get off trading. Just my thought, no intention to offend.

No offense, but your expectations aren't realistic. There is no magical tutor who will spoon feed you information that took others months/years to gain.

Like I said, think about it:

You are a forex "mentor" who is very profitable. Why on earth would you teach someone? Even if you charge $250/hr, if you're truly profitable you could easily make more simply spending time trading instead of teaching. I'd say 95% (probably more) of mentors are scammers who might not be all that bad, but definitely not good enough to make up for you not wanting to put in the time and learn yourself. All resources you need are freely available on the net.

I come from a real estate background and had NO CLUE about chart analysis up until 1.5yrs ago. Everything I know today I learned through FREE (!!!) resources on the net...no overpriced dodgy mentors, no spoon feeding. If you want to become good at something you have to put in the time.

It seems you are looking for a "I'm with this mentor and now make 25% per month" answer...but you simply won't get an answer like that because most successful people on here seem to either have a finance/investment background (like me) or are self-taught.

Although I basically agree with the replies that you have had Alanamc, they have not really answered you question.
The 3 ducks system (free) seems to do quite well and Andy Perry (Captain currency) does do a short paid for 1 on 1 session via internet. I have heard good things about that, but not experienced it myself.
James 16 is still going strong and has stood the test of time. The James16 thread is really huge now, but you can check out the main website

You may find it useful, check out the free stuff first before you decide to part with any cash.
Again, I have no experience of any James 16 paid for stuff, so have no recommendations.

I've tried a few of these over priced references above and don't agree. You have to do the work , test the strategies and trade without someone else telling you when to get in or out of the market.
You can read every book and do every course in the world about how to ride a push bike but when you first jump on that bike you'll still have a fall. Don't get me wrong, I think educating yourself is important but everything you need is right here in these forums. Look at what others are doing and test it to see if you can make it work for you .

It's not that good courses or books do not exist, they do..but it is really hard to get hold of a good one or one that suits your trading. And as others have pointed out, no matter what course you take or book you read, you have to learn the tricks on your own. Sure, you could get a few tips but that's about it. All the info, that''s in the course, is already available. Good luck hunting!

Since you asked for recommendations, I guess it should be ok for me to post the link. I found this $197 course useful in reading price action (fear & greed, trapped buyers/sellers), and not the usual moving average cross-over or waiting for indicators to change color. Lance Beggs is from Australia.
No longer trading forex. Looking for full time job.

IMO Well,
1) All good teachers can't be good traders
2) All good traders can't be good teachers
3) If a good teacher has failed in trading that doesn't mean he doesn't know about trading. I think most probably such people failed in find their trading style.
4) If a good trader has failed in teaching his methods that doesn't mean he doesn't know anything about the system he trades. I think most probably such people failed in communication and presenting/writing skills
5) A good teacher is of course more helpful than a good trader
6) You can get all the PA related info for free on forums like FF, even with noobish search skills.
7) As you say you don't have time for those and probably have spare money to spent, to which i would say "you are hurrying up....esp. if you are a newbie trader and probably can save that money". Think about it.
8) You probably have found out what you like, that you want to trade the PA (Some trade indicator systems; some futures data; etc, etc).
So search about PA and stick with few PA systems and learn.

Though yes, there are some (only some) traders/teachers out online/offline who coach/sell courses which are worth if one is ready to learn and not spoon-fed.
But again the same info you can get for free online (not pirated stuff; i mean in another form of explanation/detail).

Courses are everywhere on the Internet. Some are good, some are mediocre and most are just awful.

Before you part your hard-earned money into any course, do realise all that you need to learn about forex trading can be found on the Internet for free. It will take a lot of time and effort on your part to research and acquire the knowledge but that's how it is when you learn new skills. It takes time and it will be difficult.

With that in mind, most courses you see out there takes advantage of this. They market themselves as helping you save time and effort by providing education and trading strategies. Understand that how they trade may work for them but it may not work for you. Of course they will try to sell you that it works for everyone but it is not true.

Every trader is unique. You have to find your own path. As for me I think I found mine in Mario Singh who is the Forex expert and Director of Education at Fxprimus. But I have to admit I'm quite a slow learner

Well I am gonna give a different comment compared to most of the posts here. I started my trading 02 - 03 years back and failed to get something from the market for nearly 1 & 1/2 years & then got to know about price action trading. Eventhough there are so many materials on price action trading available I am very poor at learning things alone. So I decided to do a course on PA trading even though most of the pros not recommend it.

However I found a very good trader and mentor for PA trading from one of my old friends. After read so many good reviews on his courses I registered a course with him. Actually that was a turning point of my trading career. I got to know so many things about PA from him and now I am trading profitably thanks to him. He is Chris Capre from 2ndskiesforex. I don't want to promote him as I believe he has good student base.

So Alana, I would like to give you one advice, follow your heart and always do the best thing which make you profitable. And remember don't follow any course prior to do any basic research on the mentor. You can find reviews regarding Chris Capre from below this link.

Having a mentor is grate idea, i got one when i was starting five years ago, i was trying to figure out how his mind work and i think i did a good job, my analysis and trading account is speaking about me now.

But! Yes there is a always "but , today forex become one of the most popular niches online so there is a lot and lot of rookies that want some easy money and they open a website copy some material and ask you for money. If you want to find a mentor try searching big portals for analysts and traders that have mentorship program, find as much as you can about them, speak with mentor on skype or phone and only if you 101% sure go and pay mentor.

Courses is also good but it is much easier to have someone to go with you step by step until you dont master some strategy or theory to perfection...
