You may be your own boss when you trade the market but who do you think becomes your employer? The market of course. And this employer deducts wages from you if you are not performing in your job. The worst that can happen in a job is that you might get fired. There is no holiday pay, bank holiday pay, paid sick leave, paid personal days, gym subsidies or travel subsidies etc etc.

I must have been lucky. I've never had a boss that was an arsehole and I've worked for a lot of companies doing all sorts of work. Maybe, just maybe, part of the problem is in your attitude.

One thing I know for sure. You're not going to get rich sitting on your arse.
Nothing worth having is easy.

As usual to my learnt friend "hanover" before i write/ask the same.

Regarding the main question being discussed by the thread OP,
"Why do you want to be Rich?"
So that
- i can feel good/happy with the animate/inanimate stuff i like and whatever that money can buy.
- i can make other people (mainly the un-previleged & poor) feel good/happy by probably providing a solution to their issues (which can be helped with money one way or other)

That's all i want.

I would like to quote CHRIS LORI (CTA) here, which i like a lot.......
"Money can't buy everything but Poverty can buy nothing" (i think it was something like this if i forgot the exact words)

Its a relative statement u know but a TRUTH. Given the world we live in, money is important (even though a lot of evil is associated with it)

A cliche saying that sounds wise but in practice only happens with any regularity once you've achieved real freedom. I doubt most people who work like slaves their entire lives would describe themselves as happy.

It's hard to exaggerate the importance of financial freedom nowadays. It doesn't only mean the freedom to dump your boss or to trade from anywhere you want.... either your home, (wherever it is) or your vacation.

It also means independence from the ups and downs of the economy. Remember the thousands of Argentinians whose lifetime savings got buried in the accounts of their bankrupt banks? In our uncertain times even a retirement plan is nothing more than a bet among many others. Such as a pension; even States can default. Or owning a home: In Spain where I live many people found that property prices won't rise forever... just when they lost their job and they couldn't pat their morgage rate any more.

Therefore, as long as the market and your trades are heading the same direction you'll be alright.

Well when you think about it.. financially a lot of people are not very well off.. what counter acts their sorrows are what they have in their lives such as family, friends, where they live, what they have as far as assets etc... so just because you are not very rich financially doesn't mean you can't be happy. A lot of the people I've known are content with their lives.

Financial freedom is just another word for saying Retired, Rich, Wealthy, Very well off, Comfortable... etc...

there is a difference between "get rich quick" and "get rich easy".
Get rich easy isnt possible, but getting rich quick is possibly, indeed.

It is because FX market is very scalable. If you can take out 5% ROI per Week on 1000$ you can do the same for 10.000.000$.

Sure you have to think about iceberging your orders and chose the right broker, but you still will be filled.

You pointed out the ingredients for getting successful in other posts.

For me one point, why a lot of people dont make it, is their attitude towards money.

You need to detach yourself from money (and pips as well)

The only things that are important, are Risk&Reward.

-detach yourself from the percentage risk/reward you take in this trade, its absolutetly irrelevant for the trade
-detach yourself from the money your Risk/Reward respresents, its absolutetly irrelevant for the trade

When you have a solid method, a realistic MM, then everything is possible in FX.

Hanover knows what he's talking about. His point was more the people trying to turn $1000 into a cool million in a year thinking that this is a fast and easy business. The people who show off incredible returns are for the most part people tempting fate with high risk systems that inevitably bring them back to the ground....a realistic attitude towards return on investment is important to avoid greed.

Don't try to beat the market.. that's not logical subject.. you need to learn how to flow with the market and beat the brokers
