how to program EA to run on offline chart

Normally eas can not run on offline chart, because there is no tick data coming on the offline chart to trigger the EA to run the start() function. Is there any way around this?

I haven't actually done it myself, but this is the approach I would take. In the Start() function I would put an infinite loop (While(true)), and a Sleep(). When something neeeds to be done, do it then back to sleep. This isn't suitable for all situations, but it might work for yours.

Send ticks at regular intervals to your Offline chart, if you want to be very accurate send ticks to your offline chart from the online chart of the same symbol, assuming your offline chart s based on a single symbol, so that the tick you send to your offline chart is triggered by the actual tick received by the online chart.

Good question. I think it gets called as soon as it is loaded right after Init(). If not you could do it inside Init() or put it into a script.

Put

start();

in the init function to kick it off.

This goes in the Start() function

You also need to add a control key or something in the loop to stop it when you need to stop it to chnage the settings or what not.
