Good public equity curves?

Are there any examples of good public equity curves, for some inspiration? Ones that are actually profitable and dont go up 100% in a day and then down the next nice and steady?

I personally like this equity curve so far. But i know its only 33 trades but whatever! atleast its possible to get lucky in a month, better than ive done.

from looking at his risk to ruin profiling, he is using an insanely high risk, as there is a 95% chance he will lose 10% of his account in 1 consecutive loss. That and a 30% drawdown in just the first week of the year hints that the system is unsustainable.

Yea I spotted that. A true money manager realizes that the management of risk, drawdown, and volatility are the keys to running a long term sustainable business. If you had a 30% drawdown during the course of a year, I wouldn't even consider you a candidate to manage money, let alone 2 weeks lol. Returns RELATIVE to risk are what matters. Sharpe ratio is very important.

Right, but the Sharpe ratio tells us that. It shows us your risk adjusted rate of return. Generally speaking, a strategy is sustainable only if the S ratio is >1. I know that you don't have many trades, as you just started the system, but in time just keep that in mind. Over time, if you find that you are having trouble keeping your S ratio>1, you may want to rework your risk/reward on the strategy. If you can't or if you do and still find the strategy underperforming the S ratio, the strategy may not work. I'm just saying this because its a very important metric in determining the viability.

hey starry....... check out webjeff here on ff..... i can vouch for the accuracy of his results...... i took his trades and figured out what he is doing..... then wrote a ea and ran a backest...... in addition to a forward test on a live ibfx account....... thus verified each trade myself.......


you can also search on ibfxconnect...... ...... h
to trade and code, keep both simple... no call to impress....h

He looks pretty good! Thanks and even after alot of trades! i like how hes an automated trader. I like looking at others trades and seeing if I would have done it based on price action .
