In this journal I will post my carry trades. The pairs I will be looking at are

NZD/CHF, NZD/JPY, NZD/SGD, NZD/USD, GBP/NZD, MXN/JPY, USD/MXN, EUR/MXN, EUR/PLN, USD/PLN, CAD/JPY, USD/CAD

Here is my first trade. Short USD/CAD for 10 % of my account balance. The pair has an interest differential of 0.75 %. Since 2010 Canada has increased the interest rate from 0.25 % to 1.00 % and it is expected to increase again in 2013

Second trade. Long NZD/CHF for 10 % of my account balance. The pair has a 2.25 % interest differential and I think New Zealand will increase the interest rate in late 2013 or early 2014.

Third trade. Short EUR/MXN for 10 % of my account balance. The pair has an interest differential of 3.75 %. Europe has cut it's interest rate several times in 2012 and I don't expect that it will be raised any time soon. Mexico has had the same rate since 2009.

I have been studying the relationship between EU and EZ - GU and GZ for some time and really found some incredible trading opportunities.

Watching EU and GU and trading EZ / GZ - for every 50 pip move on GU (for instance) one get's 150 pips GZ. Watching trend more reliable helps to trade trend not so reliable. Hope I'm making sense!

I've been thinking the same. The pair also has a very nice yield spread.
Especially because the BOJ wants a weak Yen. Long AUD/JPY is a no brainer at the moment...

I have considered AUD but I have read that the rate will probably be cut by 25 basis points each quarter in 2013.

Fourth trade. Short GBP/NZD for about 10 % of my account balance. This pair has a 2.00 % interest differential and I don't expect that to be lower within the next 6 months.

As I wrote earlier I have considered AUD but I don't like that the interest rate is falling. I think NZD/JPY is a no brainer but not at the current price.

Yesterday I created a new account because something is wrong with my old hard drive and I had saved the password and account number on that hard drive so I can't login to the account. I will link the new account to this thread when I have made some trades.

I have just sold USD/CAD because a pinbar formed on the daily chart. The new trade explorer will be added when I have made a few more trades.

Today I decided to buy NZD/USD. I don't expect the interest rate differential to be lower in the near future but I would have preferred to buy at a lower price.

I am no longer interested in buying the polish zloty because the interest rate has been cut and I don't know if further cuts will happen.

Today I found out that it is also possible to trade EUR/NZD with my broker so that pair has been added to the pairs I'm watching.

What do you think about the performance of this system? I think it's great considering the fact that I have only opened a few positions. I would like to have made more trades but I'm waiting for a good price. I don't want to buy at the top or sell at the bottom. I'm waiting for a bargain

The first USD/CAD trade which currently has a floating loss now have a 10 pips profit target, and the second USD/CAD trade has a +10 pips stop loss. One of the trades will probably be closed in the next few days. I hope it's gonna be the first trade so that I can keep the trade with a high opening price open.
