Magic-Breakout (optimised) with PPA - a new beginning

M1 rocks you can in theory get all of those intraday moves and the pips soon add up.

I used to watch M15 to just over confused things your ma's give you the longer trend view so not really needed, just makes you worry to much.

When I get the strength to get on the PC I will post my chart for the same period of yours to compare.

Dunno about EA's sounds good Ofcourse but don't think I could trust 1 in reality to stay out of weak market conditions, I could monitor it switch it on at times I would be trading I guess, then off over news or slow times.

My entry rules are very simple to fair, so if could enter sound and alarm to wake me up and try its best to take profit in case I'm not there, but kill it and go manual on the exit.

Checked my chart might of gotten the first break down shoulda gotten all of the next leg down after the pause.

Not that I like or trade EU it's momentum is kinda low to stop starts.

DAX is best for this method does have days where it barely moves weirdly and 1pip spread.

GU and EJ work well to but don't like the EJ spread need an ECN tighter spread broker soon.


Starting watching ftse to, 1 pip spread slow but holds its direction well.

No problem

Actually the EA works on the 30min chart so would not suit your trading strategy.

If you want to use the CCI on your 1 min chart like I have on mine let me know and I'll PM you my settings.

Might be worth having if its the mt4 easier to adapt than rewrite it from scratch.

Not an indicators fan and don't want to confuse myself at this stage, it's all about keeping it simple.

Apologies for being a bit scarce over the last few days. I have been thoroughly testing two strategies:


1/ If you follow the "9 - 25% monthly enough" thread you will have noticed me carrying on about my "start of Euro/NY sessions breakout strategy". It's a great strategy will excellent results on EU and GU especially. So I thought that I would start a new thread which people can follow and post their own versions (if they have one) of the strategy.
I will post a trade explorer to show the daily results.

2/ I have spent many hours testing and re-testing our CCI based EA's using a new simple set-up system with great results. Can be set up on 5min, 15min or 30 min chart. What is absolutely vital though is that they will only give good results going with the trend. I'll post some results on various trading pairs and time frames in my next post.

What I'm going to do is post a Trade explorer on this thread which is ONLY showing the results from our EA's.

Just a quick comment to say that everyone is welcome to post constructive comments or comments regarding whether the strategy can be improved.

Caustic and objectionable posts will be removed and the posters banned from posting on this thread again. "KNOW ALL - KNOW B.........R ALL" is true of so many isn't it?


It's easy to say that one can simply trade the trend manually and one doesn't need EA's , CCI indi etc., but if that was the case then why are so many people losing at this game.


As we've already pointed out on this thread, automated trading takes the guess work away of where to place our trade - nerves and the "fear factor" are the killer and we are going to remove those factors and make a few bucks!

Hi everyone

Well I managed to get the trade explorer going a bit earlier then I thought

As you can see the bot generated 162 pips since yesterday. I closed the trades this morning - possibly prematurely but when you're 162 pips up why not!

I have not checked the chart parameters today (has to be done daily to set up the bot) properly for afternoon trading which is why it's probably showing a minor loss trade.

One in the eye isn't it for the losers who posted their rubbish on this thread!!


I suppose that when one is losing a person can get nasty - just please don't post any negative comments on this thread please. Any helpful comments or questions are quite welcome.

Well I see our EURAUD sell trade just turned positive - well done MAGIC BREAKOUT EA ( with grateful thanks to Cyber1 the originator of course!)

Well I've reset the EA to take account of some trend changes using our EMA's - only takes a few minutes.


Might have been good to wait an hour because of news impact, etc but anyway!

Well we're rolling quite nicely this afternoon

Amazing how little interest in our magic breakout bot trading. Anyway better to keep it it to ourselves guys! Why share a nice system with those who don't deserve it anyway!


While we're demo-ing the bot ove the next week, I'll be happy to share the set-up with those who are genuinely interested

Sorry forgot to mention that I changed the chart to 5 min on a couple of pairs (GBPNZD and EURAUD) - not sure if that's too aggressive - will take more trades but may not realise full profit or get stopped out.

Really works best on 15 min chart time frame!!

jmtini, nice thread and I subscribed I'll appreciate if you can provide me more info what are EA's sell/buy conditions.

Thanks for your post. Did you manage to read the "Magic Breakout" system PDF? My system of course has just taken a great system in it's own right and simply optimised it. There is absolutely no doubt that the CCI indi (like any tool!), IF one knows how to use it can deliver an awful lot of pips. And the great thing is that the trades are 80 - 90 % (I'm being conservative) successful.

Hi everyone

I closed the trades and switched off the bot as you've probably noticed because there have been a few possible (don't know for sure) trend changes and I didn't have time to do a check of each pair that we might want to trade. A great time to do a "trend check" is actually very early in the European session (6.00am to 7.00am) otherwise at the end of the NY session (around 10.00pm - 11.00pm GMT) because like today, we often get strong moves during the NY session.

Once you know the system, you'll understand what I mean!

I hope you have had a nice turn of the year, I have a bit extended my Xmas holidays and I'm now going to attack the FX markets again...!

MBO strategy sounds very well, do you have bought their software package for manual forward testing or do you know where to get the special indis from? Which strategy do your EA use... buying +100 CCI or -100 and can the EA manage to find the right entry candle and the other conditions used for this MBO method?

Unfortunately, good trending currencies are not very often and not easy to discover for an EA, maybe I'm wrong and you may provide a good strategy for that...I know you are able to work very hard to achieving your goals.

Really nice of you to drop by. Glad you had a nice break - happy and prosperous trading in 2013 to you and all MBO traders!

Sorry about a few of the above posts - I had to ban a couple of "unwelcome guests"! On reflection of course I realised that when you're losing money as there obviously are, it's a natural reaction to "hit out" at those who seem to be doing well.

I must say That I have to laugh at these ones that say that they are "trading from S/R areas". Years ago when I started Forex trading I was trying the same strategy as though finding supposed "support/resistance areas" was a piece of cake. That's why all these guys are losing money hand over fist because they think they know it all about forex but in actual fact they know nothing! Of course the large institutional traders/MM's love guys like them - kill their accounts in no time.

Anyway, our strategy of course is "going with the flow". We NEVER try to call the bottom/top 'cause that's the quickest way to disaster.

Just a couple of points about MBO trading:

1/ When we talk about checking the "trend" we are not talking always about the overall trend - sometimes price action can be bullish for a day in a down-trend and vice-versa. We use a neat strategy to check that and trade it.

2/ The beauty with MBO trading is it helps us to UNDERSTAND price action and trade it accordingly. What happens in a down-move (or up-move) is very much what you see on the EU 15 min chart today. It drops, consolidates - drops, consolidates - constantly. MBO catches the drops but does not trade when PA is consolidating.

Well I set up again about an hour ago.

Went agressive on EU, GU, and UC went down to the 5 min chart so not sure if we will see a good result!


Also have CJ, EJ and GZ open
