DislikedMy two cents
[color=black][font=Verdana]Regarding the secret and the law of attraction, my two cents, it is a bunch of rehashed ideas that exist in other places. Joseph Murphy for one but also in religious texts as well just not as catchy or easy to understand as the secret. The Hicks, Abraham Hicks, is another one. Who knows if Abraham Hicks is real or not. What I know is the message is simple, relax, if you want it, do it, you'll get it. And don't worry. I've known that my whole life - I don't really...Ignored
When trading I try to go into a very unemotional, analytical state, concentrate on market details,etc.. this never includes centering with the universe or seeking laws of attraction. In fact, my trading psyche could be even explained as more of an survival mode of nature...looking at the market as a jungle and being discipline enough to:
protect myself
seek opportunities
watch closely all that happens around me
learn what and where are feeding opportunities
learn and practice the setups of closing those opportunities
unemotionally pulling the trigger or holding back as the opportunity develops
If failure, cut my losses quick and try, try again, learn from each try
Of all the people I know in these markets the ones that do the very best could be characterized as cold, indifferent, somewhat unfeeling very non-spiritual non religious atheists, a bit introverted, superior acting toward others, no temper but no real happy face either, very much uncaring of the universe, mostly unconcerned of anything except themselves and maybe a few close friends. With these people attraction happens by going quickly to what they want and taking it without hesitation, moving with very high confidence and no REMORSE what so EVER! This is very much opposite of sitting and allowing the universe to come to you.
Achieving spirituality as with meditation or visualization is best done in a mostly isolated environment. Trading is not an isolated endeavor but the opposite. It is very much a pack behavior in many respects because the most sucessful follow almost step by step with others of similar type (the banking, wallstreet, high capital group) even though they may be 1000 miles away from any banker. Although this pack is not a herd grazing together but rather a pack of wolves who feed off of the much larger grazing herds. They run together but attack in systematic fashion with each member having his place in the setup. They probably know alot about behavioral psychology and also know alot about how the jungle works (intimate knowledge of the broker system, order and volume dynamics, contrary behavior, resource imbalances and general finance). Spiritual has nothing to do with it and usually causes contradictions to trading behavior because spirituality is about universal love and acceptance and trading is about seeking and conquering. Most spiritualists in the trading field make thier living as coaches and teachers, most pro traders use spiritual guidance as one tool among many, many and use it mostly to fend off greed, temper, stress and burn out.
The best type of knowledge seeking to be successful in this market would probably be to spend some time working at a brokerage of any type, hiring a market psychology coach and being mentored by a successful and skilled hunter of the jungle.
