thanks for the headups. Yeah April and Sept strong resitance. PA could break so I would take my profit and run. Or If it was multi mini lots, I would close the most and let a small portion for a possible Breakout. AM I right?

Coming from you praise indeed. We all know there's nothing new in trading, just what you pick up from others that we shape into something thats works for us. I would have a long list of people to thank for the little bits of info they shared so freely.

I also did not know this thread until a few of my S3 trading buddies told me. Once I found my way here, I started another cycle of my learning.

So good to here among like-minded people from all over the world. I found a few new friends too.

More often than not Asian session will respect previous session ranges, as happened here. There are always exceptions of course that happen with a run starting at market opens, 2am gmt if I recall.

Thanks for your comment. I'm not sure that I'm clear your meaning or not. Your mean is we will have some fake move 1 hours before London open.? If like that, the time will be 7AM GMT?

If Asian does go it will be around the open (can't remember which one off hand - Tokyo??) around 2am gmt. If that does not happen then the Asian session will most likely respect ranges set previously. So if I was awake and trading well before LO I wouldn't be looking to get into trades that are hitting close to the Asian (+ previous) highs.

Great info, this really is an area that i am working on at the moment.

The initial challenge i had was that my trading process did not consider my work commitments, which lead to frustration by missing set ups etc

Which i tried to answer by getting up earlier and earlier, which lead to fatigue over the week, which lead to poor decision making, which lead to frustration..... etc etc i think you get the picture ................ all of which stumps your learning process.

Its only when i realised that part of the problem was with managing the transition form work to trading, that i have been able to put together a more refined process and your post highlights the type of clear simple process one needs to follow.

I have the same feeling about my work / trading / missing setups, I spend more and more time watching my charts than working...I think it's a full time job :-/

Anyway I'll keep trying, not going to be rich soon ;-) but personally I think knowledge is more interesting.

could you expand a bit more on how you changed your style, i am currently at the stage of getting up earlier and earlier due to trying to get setups

The first thing i relised was that i trade better when my mind is fresh - as my trades are well thought out, which means if they wrong i can objectively look at why they were wrong.

Secondly my work commitments have to take priority otherwise ill never be able to trade for living .... ironic i know but you need to give your mind some stakes in the ground to base your decisions around.

With this in mind these are the changes i made ...

1. Reduce the pairs i trade so i can comfortably do analysis at night ( close of day ) and during day .... without feeling like i am just flicking through pairs with no real identity as to the state of the market ... what i mean by this is that its pointless doing anlysis on [n] pairs at night if during the day you cant update your anaysis

2. Do NOT trade when i first get up - im on London time so i have actually extended this to only trading after LO ... this is due to i am up at 6 and what with other commitments - travel etc i cant sit down clear headed till about 8.30

3. I dont get hung up with trade management - i have a single trade lot size i set a TP and i move it to BE after 11 pips. What i want to prove to myself is my entrys and what i want to avoid is frustration from having a trade management plan in mind and not being able to execute it due to time.

4. MOST IMPORTANT if due to other commitments you cant follow through with your process its OK not to trade for the day and especially GREAT not to go diving into the markets looking for oppurtunities

My first Chart post, hope it works out.

Good Evening Emmanuel,
I thoroughly enjoyed your clear and concise logic on how you view your charts and TFs. Thank you for clarifying the importance of the 10 ema and how price closure above or below it helps influence the direction of the trades ( decision making ). You noted that on the Daily chart, if yesterdays candle closes above 10 ema and closing price is higher than the open price then the concensus is to take only long trades. I'm all clear with that. However, in reference to my chart, we have Candle A, above 10ema, but price closed below the Open price.(A Down Day). At this point in time,
because we have a down Day, but Price Closed well above 10ema, do we still look for Long trades or do we go down to lower TF's to more accurately pinpoint our entries for either Long or Short trades.
Then we have the
onflow effect of another down Day as in Candle B, this time Candle price closing below 10ema. I unerstand that Candle Analysis comes into the equation along with other tech analysis.

Emmanuel can you please share your experience in this kind of scenario. All your help is greatly appreciated.
