You will notice from the attached screenshots that I trade at a very efficient level. What you are seeing is not a trader being boastful; you are seeing a trader that is a “student of the game”.

I do not nor will I ever pretend to be a guru or a “System Expert”. After 10 years of trading I am still learning myself. I don’t use a “system” I use a “style”, a style that suits me based on the principals and theories that I read, learned & absorbed. Not theories that I formulated myself, I am after all still just a “student of the game”, and I strive...

Snail, and others who ask questions and cant find the answer. There are 3 things it could be: 1-It is in the student handbook. 2-9er is not ready to teach it yet. He just told us everything must go very slowly so we dont get overwhelmed 3-or, it was answered already and you can find it somewhere here. Most probably it is number 2. Seems to me 9er only wants questions to what he is tallking about. We havent cobered that much. And because I was encoraged I will say it again for the new people:

They don't want the thread cluttered with war stories and comments that are off topic. And the best one: IF IN DOUBT,DONT SAY IT. I too was told to just relax and learn what is put in front of me. We all have questions that haven't come up yet. Imagine if we all asked them at the same time. Chaos! This is a great board with a very helpful moderator. Lets just sit back and enjoy the ride, folks. This is going to be quite a nice experience if we can just be patient. -)

But you are losing site of why I am here. If something I post doesn't make sense post a chart, and spell it out to me. I am no expert, you may well introduce an idea to my head that I had not previously thought about

But it is really hard for me to determine exactly what you are saying as I have drawn this divergence for years. I can't help if I don't see what you are referring to - make sense?

Let me start by giving a HUGE thanks to 9er for starting this thread, for your time and effort. The way you’re sharing your trading style, the step by step intro and live trading examples, is a great way for us all to learn what you’re trying to teach.

I just finished reading the entire thread and about the gartley pattern. Just ordered Bill Williams book.

First question is when do you start looking at the market, London open? That’s like 1am your time MST, 3am my time EST. If so I’ll be up to watch and learn.

I hope this thread continues as long as it takes to share all your trading experience. Don’t let a few negative jerks ruin it for all us that really appreciate your thread.
I agree with others that say let’s keep this thread on topic and only ask pertinent questions.

Also thanks Mr. PIP for your contributions.

I am dead serious when I say this: Even I don't know about zone trading. I like that you bring an additional element. Maybe as we progress you can identify a time that is more appropriate to introduce. Then the "teacher" can become the "student". I love it - and no worries you never over stepped any boundaries! Your passion for trading and teaching is evident!

We will always be students. Once we stop learning, we stop evolving and once we do that we become the dinosaurs LOL. We will definitely wait for a better time to discuss zones. It really is a lot simpler than it looks and very easy to identify don't sweat it. Is there anything in particular anyone wants to learn about the ABCD pattern. Like its rules? I ask this because no one has asked what makes an ABCD pattern?

In trading we have a need to know how things work. This is important to our success. You can't expect a surgeon to perform an operation without knowing how the body works and how that operation is going to affect the body. The same thing goes in trading. We must understand how our tools work so that we can use them more efficiently. Indicators, patterns, fibs whatever if we do not understand how they work then we can't apply them to price effectively and our trading will be severely affected...
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

We if you are trading in real time then your result should be the same. It would not matter if it is a real or demo. The inconsistancies then would be the trader's mind set (fear, greed, disbelief). I would however agree that the results will be significantly different in a backtest of an EA as in backtesting of an automated system you don't capture spread changes, swaps and requotes. It's always easier in back test because indicator repaint and perform magically perfect.

If the problem is discipline then as I tell my students open a micro account and trade the smallest position size you can afford. Real time trading is real time trading. If you have a trade plan that is rules based and you follow that plan without fail then real or not your results will be the same.

Be consistent with your trading, measure your results then you will be able to quantify the weaknesses and improve on them. Do this my friend and you will see how you real account will slowly match you demo.

Cheers,

Mr. Pip

ok... now I am interested..
1) ... Your students ? what students? please can you clarify your relationship with "9er"?
2) don't you think it's a bit strange to push a system to the public that is used only at the demo level? Can you show me the results with real money?
3) if it is demo only, then fine, but please can you make sure that your followers know about it?

Listen, this is exactly why threads go to waste. It is this kind of thinking that prohibits a learning trader's growth. As mention before your focus is way out somewhere where it doesn't need to be. If you are here to learn then learn if you have something to offer that will increase performance then by all means share it. But if you are here to ask pointless question that have nothing to do with what 9er and the others are here for than please find another forum.

Not that I need to but so that you don't feel like you need to continue on the subject here it goes the answers to your questions:

1) ... Your students ? what students? please can you clarify your relationship with "9er"?

I teach anyone who is serious about learning to trade. I do this at no cost because I care about people and their personal growth. Locally in my area we have weekly meet ups and monthly meetings to discuss trading and investing. I have no relationship with 9er only through this forum this thread is the first time we exchange ideas.

2) don't you think it's a bit strange to push a system to the public that is used only at the demo level? Can you show me the results with real money?

No one here is pushing anything on anyone only sharpening skills. I'll call it the progression of a learned skill as this is a very important component to becoming a successful trader. We must always keep learning! Whether it is a real account or demo does not matter to me. As a professional trader who does this for a living, my experience and knowledge on the topic tells me there is real value in the material presented. I don't need the account to be labeled as real to see this. I hope the rest can see the same. I will not show you my real account because I have nothing to prove to you and will probably make you cry. If you can't see the knowledge base in my posts and that of 9er's than I can't help you and certainly explains the focus of your questions.

3) if it is demo only, then fine, but please can you make sure that your followers know about it?

I believe I already answered this question but I will add this: Does it really matter if a system is presented in a real or demo account? Maybe to some people it does but it shouldn't. We have to be masters of our craft and above all students. When you went to school your teacher educated you through a means of different forums (chalk boards, handouts, books) did that make it invalid because it wasn't the real thing or did you absorb the material and applied it to real life? Trading is the same and this forum is the same. Information is presented and as you grow as a trader you will begin to understand what has merit and what doesn't what works and what doesn't. It's taken me a long time and lots of money to learn this critical lesson.

Anyway I'm not here to argue or waste time on matters that are not conducive to learning. I hope this answers your questions and brought you closer towards your success as a trader.

Out of respect for 9er and the many present I will ignore all future post and not entertain questions that are not in tune with learning. I hope you will do the same. Thank you and my apologies to all for having taken the time to write this.
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Thank you, now the ABCD pattern is the one that occurs the most. It is also the foundation for other advance patterns which we will hopefully cover in the future. This pattern has some variations as it's appearance depends mainly on how shallow or deep the BC leg retraces. There is the ideal ABCD pattern and the rules attached covers this. These are my rules for the pattern as I trade them. It is from my trade plan, I also have the same rules for the other patterns I trade. Enjoy and I hope it hepls you.

Almost forgot, I don't know how to copy and paste on MT4 because I don't use it but I know it can be done.

First Thank you 9er for your trading knowledge ,generosity, and Mr Pip for your complimentary knowledge on the subject. ( Now for a small rant) OMG demo ,real ,ethereal, are you kidding me, does it really matter,? These people are giving away knowledge ( hard earned) for free ?! I make a goooood living trading, been doing it since early "82" to be exact. I am on board ( front row mind you) for knowledge that I do not have. I love harmonics and have no clue what to do with it. I Speak of 9 er, Mr pip and anyone else willing to give of them self...
