I was back-testing charts this weekend and got amazed about 15mins... it looks easy to find entry, but almost impossible to find direction of the market, because of so many fake signals.. at least for me. Than i went to 1hr, 4hr and daily: Daily looks so much easier to analyze. I know all seniors keep talking about it, but when you get personal experience, its so much different.

Anyway, i keep staring at charts and think i need to start telling the story behind those candle to myself.

I like how Gibril tried to explain meaning of each candle (page: 222, 226)

Question I have now: How important to know what exactly going on behind each candle? is it possible to know? can we say its physiological part of forex? Is there any good guide with examples of how BIG guys read it? I'm pretty sure there is such thing, its just not for mortals lol.

How do they know if there is a money there? what tool do they use to see it? can we use same tool for easier anticipation of what they are going to do?

don't you think your brokers can see where your positions are? sl? position size?
they even know who's account is in trouble.
you will need much more than couple mas to beat them, imo.
and i personally don't think it's got anything to do 200 ma. ask yourself, when they can see everything, would they really rely on mas? yes they get respected a lot. i agree, but i don't think it's because market makers used em... may be it's one of those tools that large institution traders use, i don't know... then again, it could be just me thinking that way.

You have no chance in knowing what the big boys are doing – brokers are not in the same league as the major players. We as retail traders have no edge as such when trying to double guess what the big players are doing.

Keep it simple – if mkt moving up we should be on long side, if the mkt moving down we should be on the short side – why does everyone keep saying follow the trend! (of course we have different short term trading strategies – but im just making a general comment). It’s a $4 trillion a day turnover business – hence retail brokers are not market movers as such. Even the interbank market is a maze – your spread varies as you filter down the access route. There are so many huge participants in this market that you can not possibly assess what they will do – well of course have some trading edge to jump on the move but otherwise there are many factors against retail.

In Europe the major banks are the big players, something to note regards asia – exporters are big on the fx market. So your question regards what MAs they could possibly use – we would never know, but as bank traders surely they use technical…..as companies or exporters they could look at major RN levels or standard calculated points. (I will not go into detail on that as its been mentioned before).

(Some small issue I would like to add, this arising from numerous charts I have seen posted etc. Its been mentioned few times but not addressed – have you noted the 4hr candles on some charts – on many of our posted charts the candles do not match. I understand that if we consistent in using them then it should be fine – however, if say we trading FO, LO – would it make sense to have MT4 platforms mirroring say some european time zone?….many suggest gmt – but so many platforms are not even GMT. 4 of the biggest 5 fx trading banks are European! Deutsche the biggest, followed by Barclays – these two biggest in Europe. This may not seem important but we are trading when volume is at its greatest – hence giving us the opportunity to get on board with the move – our style which is Arjun’s clear and precise methods are based on PA, candle formation etc. Easily on one platform we could see a ‘normal’ candle – and on another a clear pin)

Agree with you heard from somewhere that beside fibo, 200ema/sma in all time frame is watch by most if not all big banks.That's mean everybody is looking at the same thing and that is why it is very well respected imo.

aryary, thank you. I do notice this difference about H4 CS between brokers. Using different timezone MT4 platform, that's a good idea. Thus, we'll be more easier to recognize pattern.
